The High Chaparral: The Final Season [DVD]

I'm so glad the final season of The High Chaparral is finally out on DVD. The quality is fine. There are some extra things on the DVDs like an interview with Henry Darrow, commentary with Don Collier and Rudy Ramos, etc.

I have so enjoyed this western series since i was a child. I was disapointed that the u.s. did not have any that worked on our machines so now that they ste processed to work in the u.s. i plan to collect all of the series!!

Great conclusion to an interesting western. Blue Boy is not in the cast this season but the topical drama continues. Victoria's father dies and her wayward uncle has the opportunity to run his estate.Beautifully restored. Vintage interviews.

I enjoyed the last season, even without Blue. Although, the character was missed, the show still pulled it off. Very enjoyable. Pleased that I now own the whole series. This was my all time favorite western as a kid growing up. It feels like seeing old friends again.

love this show.

four seasons. these are rare and a must buy. a different western. one of the best tv series.

Season four marked a sad end to a good series.The theme music was tweaked a bit( adding a jangly guitar, and a horn fanfare during the episode credits) however all this made the show intro sound less exciting.Much of the violence was toned down or happened off camera.The character of Blue (Mark Slade) was absent, so the show was minus the relationship dynamic with his father, John Cannon, and also his surrogate fathers Manolito and Buck.There was also an effort to make the show more PC. so a lot of the more raucous genre tropes that made the show so much fun to watch were missing.

I have the previous three seasons. This completes the series now. Thanks! I enjoy this story. Sad in places but otherwise it is exciting to watch. Happy to have all four seasons now in my collection.

Love the interactions with Victoria and her Brother Manolito. Even if you don't understand the Spanish you sure know what they are fighting about.

The show it self works good only problem I had was the case it came in was all broken
