This auger is great, the soil in our yard ranges from sand to clay, over the years we have identified the areas of clay, it is so hard to dig, when we have been able to we then "fix up the soil by mixing in top soil and sand. This auger is going to make planting our bulbs this fall and next spring super easy. I received compensation for this review, honestly I would have given the same review anyway.

Works better than I expected for transplanting in the garden. Easy to drill a 3" hole or make it as big as 6" diameter by tilting the drill after making the initial hole. My 18V DeWalt cordless drill has power to spare.

Because the soil was so compacted, mostly clay, this just didn't work except where the soil was cultivated (didn't need it there). It actually made the clay compacted and rubber-like. So, didn't work in our situation, but can see where it could in better conditions.

This thing works pretty good. I was very surprised. It won’t go through big roots but it makes digging holes for planting much easier. It breaks up the soil great also.

Excellent in hard or root bound soil. Digs a decent sized diameter hole. My older model bit did not have the root cutting ability this one does. Built like a tank.

Bought this to use when planting flowers. Love it. Connected to drill with no issues and sturdy enough to dig thru soil. As pictured and described.

Really speeded up planting dozens of plants. Fast in damp ground, easy to make holes bigger if needed. Highly recommended.
