The Skeletons Strike Back: An Unofficial Gamer's Adventure, Book Five

My older boys (ages 5 and 4) love this series. However, this particular book shows improvement in the authors ability to write. I was generally less than impressed with the grammar, sentence structure, and vocabulary in the earlier books in this series. 'The Skeletons Strike Back' shows improvement in these areas and thus was more pleasurable to read aloud.Overall this series is great for any young minecraft fan. The material is exciting enough to keep kids attention but not too scary for the younger fans. Sometimes it reads more like a list of gameplay moves but again, this book has greatly improved in this area over the previous ones in the series.I particularly liked how this book stepped outside the general Minecraft mold and gave some personality to the mobs. It also introduced some more new characters and character conflicts.

I bought this series for my 8 old son...he is obsessed with Minecraft and really wanted to read these...I was hesitant at first because I wasn't sure it would be a good enough storyline...I was wrong! They not only get to go along on fun adventures that they can picture in their minds from playing the game...but the characters in the stories learn about working together, being a good friend, forgiving and trusting others...I feel 100% confident and comfortable about letting my children read these...a great buy for our family!

These books were wonderful for a kid who doesn't like to read. Got the whole set for my 11yr old over the summer. He reads 20 min and gets to play on any electronics for 30 min. He actually loves Minecraft and got in to the first book about two months ago and is on the 5th one now. He took it to school today just to read it. He loves these books because he can picture what's happening since he is a Minecrafter! Amazing transformation on his reading skills. They throw in some harder words every now and then and he gets them. Love it! From a "not so frustrated anymore" Mom

My 6 year old loves mine craft and loves the stories and adventures in this series. It is a must have if you have a child that loves minecraft

Like many kids, my 12-year-old loves Minecraft. These books are great and he really enjoyed the stories. They are an easy/quick read for his age, but he loved the stories and devoured them. Hope more come out!

My son loves these books and was so excited to be able to read this one too. Great for Minecraft loving kids. I enjoy the stories too. they are about friendships, loyalty and building relationships.

This was a great book. My son is in fourth grade, but I would say this is at about a third grade reading level. Very entertaining.

Bought this to read with my 6 year old. He reads one page, I read the next. Perfect for his reading level.
