DO NOT BUY!!! NOT FUNCTIONAL!!! Not as advertised!
Not only does hunk of wood not look like the pictures presented but my copy was even chipped. This “stand” can’t hold a pocket knife let alone a short blade. 0 Stars!

Very nice TANTO stand
Ignore the 1 star reviews that say "too small". The size is clearly stated in fractional and metric standards and it is reasonably accurate. This stand is for a tanto (knife) not for anything larger. But you can get this stand in larger sizes for a wakizashi or katana. I wouldn't use this for anything larger than 17 inches/ 43 cm. The assembly is solid, but the wood and finish are a bit rough. It shouldn't matter because people are not going to examine the stand that closely. It will hold and set off my rosewood shirasaya knife nicely. Using it I had to add small pieces of rubber at each end of the arc to keep my tanto from tilting off verticle. The wood is somewhat slick and the knife will slip from the upright position too easily. I used two 3/4" pieces of silicone window seal that I had on hand. I put one on either end about 3/8" in. Now the tanto stands in the proper position. Easy fix. I will say that I bought mine on ebay for less than half the price with free shipping and no tax. A very nice stand for a knife. Even at the Amazon price it is a bargain. Prettier stands are way more pricey. Save your bucks and use them to buy a better quality blade.
