Worth it
I wanted a water fire extinguisher to put on my hay baler but didn't want to pay dealer prices. This is much cheaper but still very well constructed! I did a functional check first and everything worked as it should. Filled it up with water just to the bottom of the black plastic insert which gives you the 2.5 gallon, screw on the top and put about 100 psi of air in and you're all set.

Tested...worked, probably good to practice a little with in case really need it
A little expensive I suppose, I tested it and it worked fine. Which is a good thing because by the time I got around to testing it, the return window had already closed. This would be a good alternative to a chemical fire extinguisher. The pressure gauge does take a little getting used to. And the second you take off the air the pressure jumps down, so have to play around with it and over fill the pressure some, so when you do remove the air pressure you end up with a good amount of pressure in the unit.Hopefully I never have to use it and hopefully if I ever have to use it -- it works when the time comes! One concern is -- I wonder if this will rust a little? I cannot tell if this will....

If you live in the country, you need this.
I am a retired Firefighter and we carried one of these on our truck. If you live out in the country, this might just save your house for you. This extinguisher is not for grease or cooking fires, you would need a dry chemical class abc extinguisher for that.

Great unit for outdoor application
This thing seems perfect for putting out small fires outside. The construction and material is good quality. It is also easy to use - and reuse! If you are planning to use it for anything but electrical fires, it should prove to be very effective AND economical in the long-run, since you can refill it yourself, over and over. This is also a nice feature that allows you and your family to practice with it multiple times without the costs related to the one-time-use dry chemical extinguishers. I bought this for a small ranch application - I have this with me in my truck to put out any potential fires starting from chainsaw sparks, hot muffler contacting tall grass, etc. The unit came in a sealed cardboard box that was about the same size as the unit itself. I can see that potential rough handling might be cause for concern since there's no padding except for the box, but due to quality of the construction, it probably wouldn't get damaged even if it got bounced around a bit in the back of a delivery truck - I think under normal circumstances the cardboard box would be enough to protect the unit (specifically the pressure gauge) during shipping. Either way, mine came in perfect shape. As far as use, it is extremely easy to remove the top collar for filling - and after it's full, just hand tightening is all that's required to close it and get a good seal. After filling few times, you can pretty much 'eye-ball' the fill level. Pressuring up the unit is simple - I used a small 3.5gal / 135psi air-compressor, and it only took about 10 seconds to fill. It's exactly like airing up the tires on your bicycle or car! I timed the water stream, and you get about 40-45 seconds of really good water pressure with high volume of output. It takes about 1:20 to fully blow out all the water in the tank, but after about 45 seconds, both the water pressure and volume start to gradually fade. At about 1 minute, the water output is such that it's only usefulness would be to go over, and really douse, the area that you just put out. I did many hours of research and comparison, and this unit seemed to have the best mix of H2O capacity, quality, H2O output, and best price compared with similar models and other online sellers. I highly recommend it - a little over $100 is a great deal for the amount of 'fire insurance' this unit provides! I also recommend before your first use, clean the collar threads and then apply a thin coat of really good corrosion inhibitor/lubricant like CorrosionX HD.

Quality and simplicity
Unit appears to be of excellent quality. It was received in good order. Setting up and charging was very simple and easily accomplished. Always nice to have on standby... just in case.

It’s a 2022,
These need hydro tested every 5 years, at this price and 6 months into the year it should have been a 2023 or discounted.

Put out a small fire today
I was walking home from the store when I found a ring of smoldering mulch forming around a dropped cigarette. I tried stomping it out but it didn't work. I then grabbed my Amerex 240 and put it out. I was surprised at how powerful the stream was. It was strong enough break up the surface of the mulch and get down into the embers below the surface. And 2.5 gallons was way more than enough to totally drown the fire.Afterwards I had it recharged and ready to go in 15 minutes flat. All this happened during my lunch break and I still had time to actually eat lunch. Nice.
