THIS DVD can be played in ALL regions. Includes English, Spanish and Portuguese tracks with or without English subtitles. Her story is wrapped up within one of the most incredible marvels in all world history: how the Christian church survived under repressive atheistic communism in China. But it did more than survive. It thrived and multiplied. We can better understand these heroic Chinese Christians through Noras story. Adopted by a prominent family in Shanghai in 1941, little Sung Neng Yee (Nora Lam) is treated like a princess. . . until the bombs drop, and the Japanese seize her house. After the defeat of the Japanese, she joins the Communists, believing they are the liberators of China. All goes well until she falls in love with Iam Cheng Shen from Hong Kong. Communist officials decide to break her of any bourgeois tendencies. During the next few years, in which she marries and has three children, she is subjected to excruciating persecution. She calls out to God for salvation. Miracles follow. She bargains for her husband and daughters release to Hong Kong and is sent to hard! labor, where she starts agitating for her own release. An intimate love story, sage of courage, and acclaimed inspirational gem.

Such a great movie
It’s definitely an older movie, and I wish it was more like her book, but still, a great testimony to the faithfulness of God.

Beyond amazing!
I just finished watching this story for the second time. Although the movie doesn't cover any details of Nora's life after escaping the bamboo curtain, it is still beyond what words can express. Her complete written story can bring readers to their knees before God. Nora lived through things that could only be endured by the hand and grace of God. She was made strong in weakness, and through many, many hardships, persecution and heartbreak went on to be one of the greatest witnesses to the reality of Jesus and His power and glory. She led many to Christ when circumstances looked impossible. A strong thought in these times: everyone should become aware of the reality of communism because when they do, they will stand against it ever happening in our beloved America. Pray for the Chinese and Asian people, pray for our country and the world. We won't all be Nora Lams, but we all can pray!

A True Story and keeping the faith…
Like this DVD movie. Watch this movie many years ago on TV, which they don’t show any more. The suppressed people in China and what the Rulers want the people to believe or not to believe in. Having faith in the true God our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ that saved us, that we trust and believe in him …A True Story and keeping the faith… If we don’t read the true bible KJB which is the word of God… Before man started changing God’s word to other man made bibles Man’s words… Then God’s word is lost and change to other gods of this world …

The story of how Christians oppressed during the time of Mao
A very interesting story of how Christians were treated in China during the early half of the last century and in some ways how many unlicenced religions are still treated in China if they don't get government permission to practise. A very thought provoking video based on a book.

Einfach wundervoll
