CERULEAN TX + RX - Bluetooth 2.0 Transmitter and Receiver Set for iPod

I've tried probably half a dozen different Bluetooth solution that promised support for BOTH iPod and iPhone and the iSkin CERULEAN is the only solution I've found that allows you to easily add wireless music streaming to ANY iPod/iPhone dock. It's a dead simple solution that includes a a few dongles that add some unique features I simply haven't seen in any other Bluetooth A2DP product.The kit includes the following:1. CERULEAN RX (Receiver unit with Apple 30-pin FEMALE port) that plugs into any iPod/iPhone speaker dock that includes a 30-pin jack. It also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, right on the unit.2. CERULEAN TX (Transmitter unit with Apple 30-pin MALE jack) that plugs into any iPod/iPhone. It also includes TWO ports: A micro USB port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.3. CERULEAN USB Adapter. This allows connection of the TX unit to any PC/Mac USB port to allow wireless audio from any PC/Mac. It also charges any iPod/iPhone connected to the TX.The CERULEAN TX/RX combo is dead simple to use. Simply plug the TX into any supported iPod, plug the RX into your dock, start playing music. The TX and RX will pair automagically, and you'll begin to hear your tunes after a few seconds. The audio quality is indistinguishable from a docked iPod on my Bose SoundDock Portable. Range is very impressive: I estimated about 35 feet indoors (thru two walls) before the audio started breaking up.I also tested pairing directly to my iPhone 4S using native Bluetooth and it was as simple as unplugging both the TX and RX units, and then plugging in the RX to the Bose SoundDock. It went back into visible mode, and my iPhone paired without issue. I was streaming music from my iPhone in less than 30 seconds after switching from my iPod Classic.Another very cool feature that I haven't seen in other Bluetooth A2DP solutions for iPod: The volume WORKS directly from the iPod! You can set your dock to a reasonable volume, and then turn the volume up and down directly from the iPod.As I mentioned at the beginning of the review, this is THE Bluetooth audio streaming solution for iDevice docks. I've tried it with two separate docks (Bose and JVC) and it worked perfectly on both. For the money, there simply isn't a better solution that supports most newer iPods (including the Classic) and the iPhone as well. The CERULEAN RX adapter is also offered separately, which would allow any Bluetooth equipped PC, Mac, PMP or smartphone to stream audio to any 30-pin audio dock.With all the different ports, you can also plug a standard 3.5mm cable into either the TX or RX, so this solution isn't limited to Apple iDevices, even though it's designed for them. You can stream any PMP with a 3.5mm jack into the TX unit (which will stream wirelessly to the RX unit). Because the RX unit has the very same jack, you can also plug a 3.5mm jack into ANY dock that offers only a 30-pin jack. iSkin has covered ALL the bases here!When designers create great products that work well, we should spread the word to others. This is a great product, and having wasted so much money on inferior products, some of which cost MORE than the CERULEAN RX/TX, without many of its features, I was so pleased to discover it. I couldn't more pleased with this product and highly recommend it.

Perfect solution, simple to use, sounds great, no batteries,but you can charge iPod through Iskin . The Cable is provided. You supply the 5volt adapter. My tunes were encoded with Apple Lossless so I was stuck as nobody else supports this codec. No way to put the tunes on phone, playstation, etc. without recoding. The Iskin gives the ability to transmit to anything with an aux input, you do need a USB 5v supply and 3.5mm plug to RCA or 3.5 mm plug or whatever your going to plug the RX into. The cables you need are supplied and instructions are clear. This thing must have been expensive in its day. Even the packaging looks like Apple. Now My old iPod is a remote. Volume is transmitted also. Very pleased for 19.99.@ 2020 purchased another set for another device that uses the receiver. Cost less then last time. Some boards support apple lossless now. This set is still a winner even if you don't use an iPod. All cables are included to transmit any audio to this receiver. The transmitter will only pair with this receiver but the receiver will pair with everything I have tried.

There really needs to be a compatibility list for this product (I couldn't find one and one isn't referenced with product). I bought this to connect with my Ford Sync car stereo and it works as far as syncing goes and I can even control the ipod through my car buttons when it is synced, but there is NO SOUND... Now I could plug the USB power adapter into the RX and then the Aux cord into the RX and then into the AUX port to my car, but that defeats the purpose of buying this product... also I tried that and the audio quality was extremely poor.On the upside I'm keeping this because it works with my home stereo just fine, with excellent audio quality, and also with my iPod dock flawlessly, also with excellent audio quality.The reason this only got 3 stars is because it is NOT COMPATIBLE for what I bought it for.

Purchased in February 2014 from Amazon. Packaging was clean, did not appear to be a re-stock. Bought it to transmit to a BEM bluetooth speaker which is a handy small cube with minijack out to run into a standard home stereo system. It is compatible with the A2DP profile used by Cerulean.In spite of using every caution and procedure I read about, the Cerulean transmitter on my iPod would not send music. I did get it to make a pairing beep through the Bem speaker and begin the slow flash of the transmitter led indicating it is paired, but no music playing in the iPod was heard. An inquiry to "support" at iSkin, seller of Cerulean bluetooth devices, concerning whether the system is not compatible with a 7th Gen iPod Classic, went unanswered. (30 hrs later)I notice that the iSkin web site makes no mention of this product, so I guess they have ducked out.For reference, the BEM does pair with the bluetooth in my Nokia Windows 8 phone and plays music from it.UPDATE Feb 7 2014 The problem is not getting music out of the iPod Classic. It is connecting fully to the BEM speaker. When that is bypassed by using the Cerulean USB power cable (supplied) with a 5v brick and stereo minijack out to the stereo system, the music is heard properly. So change rating to 4 stars (one off for not connecting to non-Cerulean bluetooth receiver which works with other bluetooth transmitters).

Bluetooth transmitter pairs uniquely to receiver and nothing else.apart from that it's perfect

The product quality is cery good indeed.The product performs exactly as promised.Use the transmitter to play music from ipod / iphone to any speaker system via Bluetooth (using the Receiver) or directly to a Bluetooth Headset.Use the transmitter & the supplied small cable to direct audio via USB port on to a bluetooth headset.The only problem I am facing are :1. The Receiver does not have a rechargeable battery inside. So, at the Rx end you need to power the Receiver. For this nothing has been provided in the Box.2. There is no means to redirect music played using Winamp to tthe USB port instead of the normal speakers. Some diver should have been provided for this redirection as Winamp music player is very popular.3. Within 2 weeks of my purchase Amazon.in slashed the price by 10%. both the tx and rx pair with each other however for some reason the tx does not pair with any other Bluetooth enabled speaker like bose soundlink, sony etc.
