BirkenstockMilano, Unisex-Adults' Sandals

I bought these to replace a much-loved pair of Naot sandals that did me well for four summers but have now died. My husband bought some birkies last summer and raved about them so I thought I would try them for size. I went for this style as they are "proper" sandals with a heel strap and pretty much identical to the ones I am replacing - only difference is that these have buckles rather than velcro fastenings. I went for a size smaller than what I would normally wear - 38 instead of 39 and they fit perfectly in a roomy, airy kind of way. I would say that my feet are narrow/normal width-wise by the way.I wore them out to town on the first decently sunny day after they arrived and they were comfy straight away - my feet did get a little tired towards the end but I had been wearing them and walking about for about six hours by then. Since then, no problems. I've since snapped up a pair of leather Birkenstock shoes at a bargain price - I'm a convert!

I absolutely love them and did not have any issues with the size whasoever as I did know from a friend that they came up a bit big. However they do come up about half a size bigger than they actually are. I am a 5.5 and my birkenstock milano size 5 fit me so well. They are amazing shoes, comfortable from day one even if you want to take them on a 5 hour walk fist day! I would recommend them to anyone, £49 very well spent!! :)

Unfortunately these had to be returned but not due to the style, quality etc as these were great but because my husband is flat footed they were uncomfortable due to the raised part of the insole.

Very pleased with these sandals. Very light but strong and well made. Marvellously comfortable, I’ve worn them every day since they arrived. My pair are the narrow fit and are on the very last buckle hole of the strap.i think the wide fittings would have to much strap at the end of the buckle and would slap when I walked. So if you have smallish foot circumference perhaps choose narrow fit.

I love my old pair of Birkenstocks because they give great support to my instep. Happily wore them all holiday with no pain whatsoever. Therefore decided to splash out on another pair. Didn't realise how expensive they have become. The pair I have purchased differ in style slightly from my originals but my one complaint is that Birkenstock have been really stingy with the amount of strap offered for ankle and for the 2 over foot straps. This means that whist these sandals ofer excellent instep support, they would probably be of no use to anyone with"puffy" feet (water retention) or with naturally wide feet. Such a shame and can see no logic for it. this is reason why only 3 stars givem

Had been encouraged to buy these as several friends had raved about them and good reviews. Shoes are things that I don't usually buy online instead of trying in a shop.Bought size 10 (am normally 10 1/2 or 11, wide-ish) following reviews that they are big for the size - strap-wise, width and overall shape, I found this to be correct and they fitted but across the top of my foot, in width and length only. I found the shaped sole extremely uncomfortable, especially the raised instep 'support'. I tried to imagine how this might 'settle' but, based on 50 years' shoe-wearing, I sent them back. Perhaps some people have feet this shape but I certainly don't. I will stick to buying shoes in shops in future.

I have always had Birkenstocks but used to buy them in Germany on home visits. This time I needed a new pair before my next visit and was pleased to find them on Amazon! The choice of styles and colours is also superior to a regular shoe shop and the price is roughly the same. If you haven't had Birkenstocks before, beware, they are cut quite generously. I have them 1 size smaller (39 instead of 40). I also suffer from the curse of having very wide feet, not a problem in these!I have had this pair for 2 years and wear it for most of the summer each year. No sign of wear or tear! Other pairs I use as slippers around the house have lasted way over 5 years! (Knock-off versions don't last a year - I tried them!)

I bought these as a gift for my 55 year old father. They are a sandal that looks good on any age! He found them a bit odd at the start, as could feel the ridge under his toes. I'd read on a blog that you should wear them in the shower to wet them to break them in, he did feel a bit silly doing this, but by the end of the day he had forgotten about the ridge. I would buy again.
