Place the mimosa seeds into a bowl filled with very hot water, about 135 degrees F. Let the seeds soak for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the seeds show signs of swelling. Remove the swollen seeds from the hot water. 2. Fill the peat pots with sterilized seed starting mix. Pack the growing medium down firmly and water each pot until the soil is thoroughly moistened. Place four to five mimosa seeds on the the surface of the soil in each peat pot. Push down the seeds into the soil, making sure they've been well firmed into the soil. 3. Place the peat pots into an irrigation tray or other similar container. Place the container of peat pots into a polythene bag. Place the bag of peat pots where they will remain at a temperature of 70 to 75 degrees F. Provide a good light source, between 10 and 12 hours of light daily. 4. Keep the soil in the peat pots moist by spritzing the soil in the pots often enough to keep them damp, but not overly wet. When seeds being to emerge, usually in two to three weeks, open the polythene to allow for ventilation. Maintain light and moisture levels until seedlings grow to about 2 inches in height.
