Great sadly replacement
Yes this contains potassium. Yes if you don't need extra potassium you shouldn't take this. Yes it doesn't taste exactly like salt, because it isn't salt. But it helps boost the saltiness of salt if you add both. Our body needs some salt each day to function for electrolytes. So it isn't actually good to eliminate all salt. I use the daily recommended amount of kosher salt and add this in to boost it because I like salty foods. It really helps and gives me extra potassium. Which lacking potassium is a big thing with me and regulating my BP and other issues. The item description tells you how much potassium a serving has, so be mindful not to use too much. You should only have around 4K mg of potassium a day. We get that from chicken, bananas, potatoes, kale, etc. so if you're eating a week balanced diet you don't need too much.

Tastes a little different from table salt
Product is 100% potassium chloride. It definitely has a salty taste but it’s somewhat different from sodium chloride, table salt. The taste of regular table salt hits you right away on the tip of the tongue and then when you’re done chewing it dissipates quickly. Potassium chloride saltiness feels like it comes later, toward the middle or back of the tongue and lingers, even after chewing and swallowing for much longer. I think it has a very slight metallic taste afterwards as well. Maybe I just have to get used to it.

Appears not to have any additives, it's just potassium chloride.
I don't know how to describe the flavor. It seems different from the regular salt we're all used to, but it is salty. I actually I purchased it to use in DIY electrolyte mix not as a salt substitute, but it does taste salty so if purchasing as a salt replacement might work well in food if you don't have potassium issues. I chose this Nu-Salt brand and it appeared to be just potassium chloride with no additives such as anti-caking agents. It comes in those sort of round cardboard type containers with the plastic top that rotates for sprinkling or pouring out of container and these are a smaller table top version, which is perfect for me as I won't be using it much. Some didn't seem to be able to find the potassium content, it's 656mg per 1/4 teaspoon or 1.25g which they say is 15% of the recommended daily value for adults. The container may not keep it from caking in humid weather. As with all things, use in moderation.UPDATE: At my last annual exam my systolic blood pressure was high. I had the thought it might be the sodium level in my food/drinks. I was talking electrolyte pills as I tended to cramp after heavier physical exercise. I decided to try Nu Salt in my foods. It has a bit of an after taste. I then tried it with some Himalayan salt and it was as a better combo though there still was a slight aftertaste. My blood pressure though is greatly improved cutting down on sodium so if you have that problem try the Nu Salt, but go easy on it because of the aftertaste or if you can try going without any kind of salt might be better. I made DIY electrolyte powder to control the sodium in it. So far so good, no cramping and my blood pressure remains good. Happy camper!

Knocked 10 points off each of my blood pressure numbers
I stopped using salt shakers and use NU-salt instead. I use it when I'm eating something salty like cheese (I've read you want to balance sodium and potassium). For two years, so far, my blood pressure at various Dr. visits has been 10 points lower than it had been averaging for a few years. If you eat a little bit straight and really concentrate your mind on the the taste, you can detect a funny metallic aftertaste. I don't care. On food, it tastes like normal table salt.

Just like salt and the price is great
Tastes just like salt, no appreciable difference, it lasts a long time and the price is right.

Not what I was hoping for.
Recently diagnosed with HBP, meaning I need to cut salt out of my diet. As a salt lover, this is not an easy thing to do. My first step was to buy and try this Nu Salt. From the reviews, it sounded like a low sodium version of salt but with the same great taste. After trying this Nu Salt for a week, I've decided no salt would be better than Nu Salt. Maybe it's just personal preference but to me, it tasted nothing like salt and does nothing for the food I tried it on. Bummer!

Great salt substitute.
It’s a salt substitute- looks like salt and tastes like it too in my opinion. Great for anyone who has to limit salt in their diet.
