5 Blackbeard and The Beauty Queen Stars
5 Blackbeard and The Beauty Queen StarsThat was fantastic! Runaway Girl is the book I didn't know I needed. This story follows the same timeline as Getaway Girl. After leaving Elijah at the altar, Naomi is striking out on her own. It is time for Naomi to figure out who she is supposed to be beyond a trophy wife. Runaway Girl is a romance but it is also Naomi's journey. Naomi was raised to believe she was only good for one thing. This is her journey from future trophy wife to independent woman. I loved that the author wrote her actually putting herself out there. Part of the fun in reading about Naomi was reading her adventures. A few were funny and one in particular was just downright sexy. Body paint, anyone? As Naomi looks for adventure, she finds out what she is truly made of. It does not hurt that she falls in love with a hot soldier too. I thought she was an amazing heroine.Jason was a perfectly written alpha male. I read a lot of books with alphas. Jason ranks up there as one of the best. He wasn’t an over the top caveman. He had a lot of heart. It was in his nature to protect but he did it without hindering the women he loved. He took pride is seeing Naomi bloom and stood by her. He did the same for his little sister. He felt lost at times and messed up a bit but he was a rock.Naomi and Jason are two people that are bound by obligations. Naomi is set to return home and beg for forgiveness. Jason is set to do another tour overseas. They are on borrowed time but Jason asks Naomi to give him the time she has. I loved Jason’s passion for Naomi. He was all in even though he knew it was going to hurt in the end.The sexual tension between these two was amazing. When they finally gave in, they were explosive together. They were animalistic! If you have read Tessa Bailey, you know she writes a fantastic dirty talker. Jason was definitely dirty and he brought out the fire in Naomi. I loved them together.Runaway Girl turned out to be a great story with a lot of heart. Tessa Bailey did a fantastic job of developing these characters. I fell in love with Jason and Naomi as individuals and as a couple. This book reminds me of why I read romance. It was so romantic and passionate. Very few books leave me wanting more and I definitely wanted more of these two. I just loved it.

It really was AMAZING!!
I am running so LATE!!!! I stayed in bed to finish this one off this morning and now I'm running late for work. But, it was so worth it. Runaway Girl was 100 times better than I thought it would be. The characters were real and so engaging, the storyline kept my attention from start to finish and the heat was...nope...I can't even tell you how good the heat was. Let's just say...Jason, Jason, Jason...I could completely dedicate this review to Jason. He's my hero but I'm pretty sure he'll be everyone's hero after reading this little treat. I can't even express how much he is the FULL PACKAGE!! Tall, gruff, muscly, bearded, tattooed and HOT!! Add in that he's possessive (maybe an inch to the extreme but he has reasons), bossy and in total control, well, as I said...FULL PACKAGE!!I started Runaway Girl not sure I'd enjoy it. After all, I'd "met" Naomi when she ditched her fiance Elijah, at the altar. And, I loved Elijah and Addison together, so I thought that I wouldn't like Naomi for what she'd done to hurt my man at the time (Elijah). There was this little bit of me that held out hope though. That scene when she comes to apologise to Elijah made me think she wasn't the Barbie Princess I thought she was going to be. Naomi ended up being a beautiful person inside and out.I really have to stop here because I have 2 MINUTES to finish my coffee, brush my teeth, put lipstick on, fluff my hair, see my boys off AND do a jig (well I don't need to but I HAVE TO because I haven't done my happy dance from reading this awesome story yet). If I get time after work, I'll come back, edit and add some more mushy-gushy goodness about JASON!!Serioulsy, though, YOU HAVE GOT TO BUY AND READ THESE BOOKS. Tessa Bailey is a bloody LEGEND!!

“You want an adventure?” He takes my face in his hands. “Let me help give it to you.”
Runaway Girl was everything I expected and so much more than that as well. It’s a fun read. It’s also hot as all get out, but what I didn’t expect was how deeply emotional and beautiful it was. I don’t want to say TOO much, because I think going in sort of blind-ish makes the ride all the more fun, but what I will say is that Naomi’s story teaches us that it’s never too late to figure out who you really are. It doesn’t hurt if you get to unexpectedly fall in love while figuring all that out either!I loved Naomi. I loved her journey, and the people that come into her life just when she needs them. Tessa Bailey once again makes even the most mundane things seem so important with her writing. Very detailed without being too much. Getting you right into the story, and falling quickly for the characters! My only complaint is that this book is over. I want to stay in the “girl” world forever haha. Are there anymore siblings hiding out there? 😂

Officer and a Gentleman
My world comes screeching to a halt when Tessa Bailey releases a new book. I have to consume it, immerse myself in it....all my other responsibilities be damned. How does she do it? She doesn’t merely write a book. She pens these interactions, these emotions, this passion that make me feel it, really feel it, in my chest.I loved these two. Naomi and Jason were such a perfect match. Their dialogue was so wonderful as they fell in love with each other throughout the course of the book. I couldn’t stop the Officer and a Gentleman reference as “Love Lift Us Up Where We Belong” played in my head when the resolution was clear. And Birdie! She is my favorite!!!! Best character ever! I want more of her story. But truly I just want more Tessa...all the time. I so look forward to reading her writing. What she puts down on her paper has no comparison. She’s a master at her craft and the love she writes leaves me with a smile and a heart overflowing.

Sheltered socialite + explosive sex with Special Forces alpha male = love.
The plot line in one line:A Special Forces stud looking for a pageant show coach for his little sister finds one when privileged Naomi winds up on his doorstep, having run away from her wedding and her snooty parents. The good and the bad:Having read Tessa Bailey's "Disturbing His Peace", which I absolutely loved, I was really excited to read this book. I have to be honest, it was not as good as "DHP". There were some things in this book that were a bit unrealistic and I was also not a fan of the short online gossip forum excerpts at the start of every chapter - they were really confusing at times and didn't add anything in terms of relevance, tension or humour to the book. That said, the book is really well-written, the plot line and Jason and Naomi's developing relationship kept me hooked. As for the sex scenes - hot, hot, hot! Bailey opts for graphic scenes full of passion. Jason is a big-style alpha male who loves to take charge and Naomi has never had good sex but her inner sex kitten comes screaming out when Jason gets his big hands on her.I can't wait to read another Bailey book!

Definite reread
I didn’t think I’d like this book. I wasn’t too sure if I wanted to read about Naomi incase she was like her family. I loathe her mother and father. But, I loved it so much! I love Naomi. I love Jason with Naomi. I love Jasons sister, Birdie. (Definite book crush on Birdie). In love with their story <3100% rereading in the future.

Addictive and highly entertaining opposites do attract story
Runaway Girl was hands down another winner and top favorite by the wickedly talented Tessa Bailey. This heart-warming, inspiring story and the irresistible, charming characters were the perfect recipe for a must-read. The opposites do attract trope is a guarantee for laugh out loud and head-shaking moments. And this author definitely excels at writing it. I loved the sizzling chemistry between the poised, ex pageant queen and the tough as nails military guy. These two were irritating each other on a regular basis which was absolutely funny and entertaining to witness. I honestly never wanted this story to end. After finishing the epilogue I had tears of happiness and gratitude in my eyes.Naomi Clemons escaped her wedding to Elijah Montgomery Du Pont because she realized that she will never be able to live a fulfilling married life if she has truly never lived. Being a boring trophy wife is not what she wants for herself. She needs more - she just has to find out what that is. So Naomi ends up at Jason Bristow's house in Florida answering a job announcement. She is supposed to work as his little sister's pageant coach. While Birdie is a temperamental but sweet teenager who craves affection her older brother is an intimidating and arrogant Special Forces guy who is building a scuba diving business. The Southern belle awakens a hunger in Jason that's impossible to ignore although he knows that she's not available to him. Despite trying to stay away from each other they will decide to explore the attraction between them even though their time together is limited. But will Jason let Naomi go back to her old life and her fiancée after her adventure or finally decide to fight for her?I adored Beauty Queen and Blackbeard with all my heart. These were their respective nicknames for each other. Naomi came from a wealthy and influential family and never had to worry a day in her life about a job and money. But that didn't make her feel happy and fulfilled. She felt trapped by her family's expectations. While living with Birdie and Jason she has grown as a person and learned a lot about herself. I was deeply touched and impressed by Birdie's motive to participate in a pageant. It made me love her even more. Jason was a respected military hero - a good, honest man. He was this intimidating, big and tattooed guy from the outside but on the inside he was compassionate, kind and very protective. Naomi and Jason could have easily set a roof on fire with the hot passion burning between them.Tessa did a fantastic job with this story. Her writing was captivating and poignant as always. I couldn't put this book down for the life of me. It was absolutely addictive. I therefore strongly encourage you to pick it up and read it. I promise you won't regret it. 5+ beauty stars for this gem!
