This is a custom hand made Black Holster for the 1911 4.25 inch to 4.5 inch barrel. Item#0587 This holster was made for Outside the Waistband, it has 1.5" Belt Slots. This holster is made for the right hand shooter, left available as a custom order. We use 7 to 8 oz. premium leather, wet molded to fit the gun. Our recommended wearing position is 3:30 - 4:00; positioning the front of the holster with the side seam of your pants, the back of the holster towards your back pocket.

Great holster. Perfect fit.
I wanted a snug perfectly formed OWB leather holster for my new Wiley Clapp commander 1911, so it wouldn't damage this special gun's surface like a Kydex one would. And I must say that this modestly priced Wintrop holster was a wonderful surprise. It's quality is great and it looks great too. The fit was perfect and I couldn't be happier. I'll buy their product again and I highly recommend their product to anyone looking for a commander size leather holster. Great product.

Good bang for the buck.
Perfect fit. Heavy, quality leather with smoothed edges. Nice, medium-high rise with good cant. Pulls in tight with quality belt - don't bother with a "normal" single layer leather belt - with a smooth draw and reholster with no hangups (fast or slow). Wet formed so it holds its shape for easy reholster. 100% retention during activity (running, jumping). And of course, it's 100% made in the good old US of A. This is actually the 2nd model I've purchased due to the positive experience I had with the first model, and I'll buy more from them if I have a need for others.

Good one
Very concealable holster for a "Commander"-45 ACP. Downside is that it lightly squeaks after some use when moving around. The upper part of the leather keeps the gun parts off my rib cage is why I bought it. Not expensive, but wish the leather was thicker.

Not as comfortable / doesn’t hug close
I wish this was a “flat back” style holster instead of a double clamshell style / it was so promising covering the hammer and beavertail, but it has to work too hard to pull close to the body. Leather is not terribly thick. If this was had a flat layer closest to the body it would be a solid 5 stars

What can I possible say that I haven't already said regarding the fantastic products produced by Winthrop Holsters. Commander holster
This product was better than expected for the cost. Excellent product, fits the gun perfectly. Comfortable to wear, and I recommend it. And yes, I would buy it again. If you've been looking for a holster for your Commander, this is the one you've been looking for.
