Quick, Cheap, Adequate.
I owned an early model of this mini scanner which served me well for several years before it gave up. For $30 I figured I couldn't go wrong with another. This model scans much faster than the old model so I am more likely to use it. I mostly use it for scanning receipts, business cards, and Christmas cards. The photo quality isn't terrific but the alternative is that I would just loose those images forever so they are better than nothing for sure. Yes there are fine white lines across all the dark areas of a photo like others have noted so if you are into high quality photos this scanner is not for you. If you want something cheap, quick, and adequate than this scanner will do fine.

Flatbed Scanner Move Over
I like most people have boxes of paper photos. I want them digital. So I purchased the Pandigital Scanner. I was quite impressed. Once you get it out of the box, turned on, you can start scanning your pictures almost as fast as you can feed them. The roller is self propelled so it pulls the picture into the scanner and converts the photo into digital data. You can do about a 100 in about an hour. It also comes with software which will allow you to scan typed documents into a word processor so that it can be edited. There are a few steps involved in doing this.Totally happy with product and tech support.

dissapointed
I loved the fact of how compact this scanner is. Set up took about 10 minutes and that is because I actually read most of the manual. Unfortunately, I can not leave a good review because the scanner did not work properly. All of the photos that I scanned had approximately a 2" white line through the middle of them. After reading the troubleshooting section of the manual, I proceeded to clean and calibrate the scanner. This did not fix the problem. I called the 800 number and actually got through to tech support in under 5 minutes. After explaining to the tech the issue he told me that it appeared that I had a faulty scanner and that my only recourse would be to return or exchange the product. He said it would be quicker to send it back to amazon then to get one from the company directly. So now UPS is due to pick the product back up tomorrow. I was not able to exchange the scanner due to amazon policy, so I will be patiently awaiting my refund.

For $40....What the heck.....
Here's the bottom line......It's $40 and it works. Don't expect a lot and you will be fine. Lines, yes on some pictures. From what I understand it's from dust. Make sure your pics are clean and that should clean up the lines. It's not a big deal to me. It works with a Mac. I love that. Fast.....It takes seconds for each picture and you can feed one after another, It's crazy fast and easy. I have hundreds if not thousands of pics that need to be scanned in and this small unit has made life easier. I upload my pics to mobile me so we can watch on Apple TV and we are just elated with the final result albeit with a few lines here and there. You want perfect scans pay more than $40 for a scanner. Good luck!

Bad yellow cartridge
The yellow cartridge leaves a yellow streak down the side of every page. We tried taking it out and cleaning the end but that only lasted a couple of pages. I will have to replace it to do business type papers. Is it under any kind of warranty? The others have worked fine and the price is very reasonable.

White lines
Very easy to use right out of the box. I liked the way it works. You just insert the photo and it automatically saves it to the SD card. I got the same white lines on every photo I scanned that everyone else is talking about. I tried to calibrate the unit a few times but it did not improve. I would consider buying again if they fixed that problem but I had to return it.

Not Bad for the Money!
We've already scanned in a few photos and have been pleased with the result. I've read reviews of this product on other sites and those would suggest that the reviewer was either impatient or expected too much. This is an inexpensive scanner and it does well for the money. If you want very high quality then be prepared to spend a lot more. I have no complaints.
