The ideal usage for this perfectly shaped pillow is sitting in a chair or laying/sitting on the couch. It provides support to your head and relief for your neck that you didn't know was missing! Get this and you won't be returning it...btw, the best way to use the pillow is upside down.

It gives good support for my messed up cervicals so I don't wake up with something like a headache. The lady in the photo here looks like she's sitting up straight with the pillow around her neck supporting her head and thus giving her cervicals a break, so to speak. Although I beleive she would most certainly be leaning back, with the back of the chair lowered. When I do that in my Lift chair, which is like an electric EZ-Chair that is able to stand me up on my feet, or lay me almost flat, when I lay back in my chair, not all the way but at a comfortable angle, the pillow gives me good support for the back of my neck, but the nodules on the front of the pillow hit me in the chin which I don't care for. Personally, I don't believe they're necessary, but whatever. I find this pillow to be stiffer than most but I like to have a set of pillows that vary in firmness. I find this pillow is good for eating in my lift chair or watching TV or if I really need some heavy duty cervical support... although again... I'm about ready to cut those annoying nodules off. Very well made, Bravo! Softest material, although the innards could be a bit softer, so that one's head could sink into it a bit more.

I have been in 3 car accidents in the last 5 years. I have extensive cervical damage & bought this pillow after much research to properly support my neck after rotator cuff surgery as I will be sleeping sitting up for weeks. My surgery hasn't happened yet but I already use this pillow all the time! I am having a cervical nerve fusion tomorrow & for the 3 days before the procedure (7 days before shoulder surgery!) I can't take blood thinners. So no anti-inflammatories. This leaves me in horrendous pain and it's practically impossible to sleep as any slight tilt of the neck is painful. But last night I used this neck pillow in bed (I usually use it when sleeping on the recliner) and was able to sleep! I also didn't wake up in my typical agonizing pain! So I will be keeping this puppy strapped to my neck 24 hours a day until my procedure is complete! What a life saver this pillow is! It provides the perfect support in any position. A MUST for anyone with neck issues.

I suffer from cervical problems... I have a Bed Chair but I needed this to hold my neck while sitting in bed. I have fallen to sleep and when I woke up the pillow had protected me from getting a sore neck. I think this would be wonderful for traveling but I highly recommend this pillow to anyone who has neck problems.

This pillow is okay but a bit large for my neck........too much bulk in the back. I do have a small neck so that may be the problem.

Very uncomfortable and overpriced. I always assume things are cheaper on Amazon but you're better off buying something at the airport.

I returned it for a refund.
