KUBEY KU168 Folding Pocket Knife Flipper Open with CPM-S35VN Steel, Frame Lock with Titanium Handle for EDC Survival and Outdoor

This is my first Kubey knife and I was happy with some aspects of this fine knife and very disappointed with others. First I would make an appeal to Amazon, make your vendors submit more accurate photos, many sellers are taking liberties with their photos by trying to embellish on them with jazzed up photography that does not accurately depict the knife, I know why they do it but I would be surprised if it did not cause returns, every sellers nightmare. I like the design of this knife along with the anodized color because I buy many and was not led astray by the multi color photo. folks, this knife is one solid rose color without any of the flash seen in the photos, no gold or green accents, I will submit a photo to set the record straight. The second thing about this knife that cost it a star and it could be a dangerous one is that it locks up at only 15% or so and the final thing that causes the loss of another star is in spite of the dangerously light lock up it has terrific lock stick, not uncommon to titanium frame locks but none the less I have a load of titanium frame locks that function flawlessly so I guess the bottom line is I may have gotten a lemon or one that got thru quality control, if there is one but in spite of these flaws I'm keeping this knife for 2 reasons, one I like it very much and 2 I have had some bad luck with the knives I have ordered on Amazon lately and just don't want the hassle of another return so I will work with it but buyer beware this may not be a lemon or it may be one of many lemons we will never know unless we try another. The EndThe second knife also purchased here that is flawless in all regards is an CH brand 3001 Pink color. It is no longer in stock but interestingly enough if you do a search on a CH 3001 what will come up is a Kubey Knife KUBEY KU047 EDC Pocket Knife AUS 8A Blade and Titanium Alloy Handle Folding Tactical Outdoor Camping Hiking Knives with Frame Lock (Blue). This is the exact knife as the CH in every regard except the stone washed blade. Think they don't grind these out in the same factory. I would strongly suggest this 5 star with a 3" blade, smooth as silk deployment and very nice lines, there you go a positive and a negative, ah hell buy them both.*****REVISION: 4/27/19 I am editing this review solely for the phenomenal customer service I received as a follow up to this review, I do not believe that many sellers on Amazon would have reached out on their own and contacted me due to a 3 star review, I am really overwhelmed by this sellers gesture and it shows me that Kubey Knife really does care and back their product with the appropriate customer care when it is called for. I was not going to let this one bad experience with Kubey keep me from buying them in the future and this action by the seller really seals the deal for me. Kudos Kubey!

Nice little knife. Wanted something smaller and I've always enjoyed kubey products. As with most of their knives, the materials and build quality are excellent. That being said, there are two things worth mentioning. The ergonomics are iffy. The lanyard/ backspacer and flipper create a hot spot and the blade had a bur along the entire edge. Everything else is fine, so the edge is just one of those things that slip by QC.

I was very impressed by this knife in terms of blade steel, fit and finish, quality of materials, packaging and presentation, and obviously great attention to detail and quality control. The blade was nice, 4mm thick, s35vn and razor sharp. Excellent lockup, deployment and blade centering. I think this Kubey knife is very good value for the buck and I highly recommend this knife from that standpoint.However, I would like to see some improvements. I found KU168 to be uncomfortable to hold: the handle would feel better and fit 4 fingers better if it were just a quarter inch longer (the handle slants at the blade, essentially shortening the finger grip real estate). Also, the handle narrows from blade end to the end of the handle which requires my third and fourth fingers to reach farther for a secure grip. These ergonomics are not comfortable and caused my hand cramps while using for extended time.I emailed Kubey customer service 3 times during the past week, but have yet to hear back from them. I wanted to explain to them that their KU168 could be a classic with better ergonomics. Also, I tried to order another knife from Kubey, but my order was declined with the reason that it could not be mailed to my Florida location. Of course this makes no sense, but Kubey customer service has not seen fit to reply to my multiple emails. If they are so lackadaisical about returning a potential customers request to buy more products, it makes me wonder if there would be any service if I have a problem with this knife in the future.

This is a review of the Kubey KU168 with CPM -S35V after about one week of "use" consisting of "cutting" one length of thin toilet paper cardboard tube, and a couple sheets of notebook paper. That's all. Wanted to love this knife. It looks great, design, construction, fit, finish are terrific. Very well made. BUT this knife did NOT cut. Even the point could just score notebook paper without excessive force. I could then pull the paper apart to tear the cut open. The angled tanto edge was completely useless. The straightedge was barely any better. What's going on? Guessing: the edge profile is off. Running thumb across in one direction, and it feels sharp. From other direction it feels rounded and dull. Such a blade will not cut.Maybe that's it. If it functioned as a knife, I'd love it. Otherwise, impressive well made piece. Maybe it was a lemon that slipped trough QC.So, returning it and wanted to replace with same model to see if I'd have better luck. But now they're unavailable. Bummed. Don't know what to make of Kubey knives now. Looking elsewhere.

Another great knife from one the best knife makers in the business. Always superior quality at an inexpensive price. This is a very nice knife. Cool color and design. There are also multiple other colors available. Smooth and very quick ball bearing flip open action. Love this knife. One of my favorite designs of all time. Great job Kubey knives! I also bought the model with the G10 plastic handle for using at work.

Messer hat anfänglich gut funktioniert. Nur zum Öffnnen von Kartons verwendet.Nach 2 Monaten ist die Haltekugel für den geschlossenen Zustand rausgefallen. Das Messer hält jetzt nicht mehr zu und lässt sich nicht flippen. Ich bin sehr enttäuscht.
