Minor Issues on an overall great kit
In my experience, this is about as "good" as a HG kit can get on terms of mechanics and quality. It's large, sturdy, and well-designed enough to give both beginners and more experienced builders something to enjoy. Although the kit brings about a final product that is really something to behold, the really impressive parts in this model may go unnoticed to someone who isn't looking closely. For example, rather than the typical black or dull grey joints, the visible "underframe" of this kit is a more aesthetic gun-metal color. This includes the knees, elbows, neck, and even the hands. Speaking of which, the kit comes with an impressive number of hands, all molded (it seems) specifically for the accoutrements of Nu Gundam, meaning the rife and sabers fit very nicely and don't tend to get the typical "jiggle." The way the bazooka and funnels attach to the backpack, as well as the hidden forearm saber, are very neat gimmicks. No kit is perfect, however, and the issues with this kit are primarily focused around the necessary design choices made to support such a large and bulky HG. The legs are a little rigid, even when compared to other HGs, making posing with them somewhat of a chore. The reason I'm not subtracting any value for this is because I'm certain this is due to the overall size of this MS. The legs need to be very sturdy and rigid in order to make this kit stand on its own, which it can do without issue. Further, the Funnels, while aesthetically pleasing, are simply always going to be an issue in Nu Gundam kits on terms of practicality. While attached to the MS, it becomes very back heavy, and there is no means to display them otherwise. Last, as with all HGs, the level of detail is not fantastic, requiring panel lining (I would also recommend paint on this one). Also worth note, though not exactly something I can comment on, I think that its size would keep it from being held properly by the typical "small" 1/144 base. I personally only own the larger base, so it worked out for me, but who knows?Rundown-PROS:+Large and Bulky+Creative design choices allow for neat gimmicks and respectable balance+Gun metal joints and hands+Wide variety of hands, which hold the weapons very snug+Looks fantastic with panel-lining and a little paintCONS:-The nature of this kit makes it a bit rigid-Can be back heavy with the funnels on-No way to display funnels-Could use a few more details/decalsOverall, this kit is fantastic, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants an impressive HG kit that both looks great and is a joy to build.

Best non-hi-Nu Gundam kit!
This new HGUC 1/144 version of Amuro's famous MS from the movie Char's Counterattack is my favorite kit release version short of the Hi-Nu which I think is epic. This is a major update of the earlier, old 1/144 plastic kit that is much more detailed, better proportioned to be anime accurate, and has great articulation to be highly poseable, especially for a UC era MS design. Plastics are high quality and many parts come premolded in show accurate colors requiring a minimum or painting, or you can use the stickers that come with the kit if you have no idea how to use a brush. The design is simple and elegant and looks best with a minimum of external decals and details, although I added a few of my own from a standard UC EFSF waterslide decals sheet. Definitely a great kit for any gundam fan and I think it's even a better looking kit that the 1/100 MG which I always felt had awkward proportions and based on the old kit from the late 80s which had a head that was too big for it's body. Plus its side plagued it with far more weight issues than this smaller, lighter kit.Highly recommended!

Great kit!
Fantastic kit! Looks amazing! Some small issues, but nothing that can't be easily fixed. Articulation is good, but not outstanding. Panel-lining is a must. Definitely worth it!Pros:Looks greatPlenty of accessoriesIs actually pretty bigMost of the articulation is greatCons:Thigh armor is loose, easily fixed with glueNeck joint is not a polycap, is plastic on plastic.Arms only rotate a little over 90 degrees, are single jointedOverall though, it's a great kit.

This Nu Gundam isn't just for show.
For an older High Grade that came out in 2008, I've got to say that the Nu Gundam in 1/144 scale is a pretty solid build. It has no loose parts when I assembled it and I think it is the best adaptation of the mobile suit from the movie, "Char's Counterattack" (I own the Nu Gundam ver. Ka). It has a wide variety of movement and poseability but don't expect to get the range of its Master Grade variant since it has no inner frame. It can also hold all its accessories at once without trouble. It already looks good by itself but with some yellow and black paint to touch up the arms, legs, and waist armor, it would look even better.Pros:-Solid feel-Accessories: beam rifle, new hyper bazooka, shield with missiles and beam cannon, beam saber, large beam saber, and its signature fin funnels (6x)-Requires little paint and panel lining-Anime accurate-Can have 12 funnels attached to backpack if you have another HGUC Nu Gundam-Fin funnels are secured when attached unlike the MG-Joints are colored in a gunmetal color and not the typical gray of other kitsCons:-A bit back heavy and leans a little to the left when the fin funnels are attached which is natural-Only comes with 2 sticker decals for the shield and shoulder (not a problem if you're looking for the anime look like me)-No effect parts for funnels or stand to display them in actionFinal Thoughts:I would highly recommend getting this kit, it is not a hard build and the final product is solid whenever you hold it. If you're a fan of Amuro Ray, this is his final canon mobile suit in the anime and should be in your collection.P.S. For a little bit more, you can get HGUC-93 which contains this kit with all accessories I listed as well as extra parts (armor, new rifle, and new shield).
