Best idea for travelers!
I love this little notebook so much! Every time I flip through the pages I see something new that I didn't notice before. It's very useful for traveling to Montreal. It has city maps, a pull out metro map, useful street index, personal data sheet you can list your info if it gets lost, transportation numbers, a before going sheet, travel planning/memo sheet, measures and conversions sheet, international sizes reference, blank pages you can write your travel experiences, six distinct tabs where you can list places you like to visit, an extra six tabs where you can use the tab stickers provided (with different topics such as Museums, Theater, Getting Around, Markets, Words, Galleries, Musts, etc. AND blank 20 tab stickers for your own topics), 32 removable sheets for loose notes, and 12 translucent sheets to trace your route on the map in the notebook, and three different colored string bookmarks. There's even a pocket at the back to hold metro tickets or itinerary. The notebook is a small size for travel and it's a hard and durable cover. I'm speechless at how amazing this book is to travel with. What a great concept that actually works. It's going to keep everything organized and I'm going to record every day of my trip in here!

Moleskine great, ATL's map a little limited.
First, I would just like to say that Moleskines are fantastic little books--the city guides are no exception. I have ones for London and New York as well, and they have been invaluable for getting around and for storing notes and memories. Truly as marketed--they are better than most travel guides, because you, the traveler, create the adventure.Atlanta's City Journal is well-made, and contains the usual components of the city book. My only complaint is the map. It's well-detailed and accurate, but is a little limited. Many of Atlanta's charms are found east of Downtown and Midtown, inside of the I-285 perimeter: most commonly, the areas surrounding Decatur. However, those areas are not showcased on the detailed "zoom-in" pages, which is a little unfortunate. I would have loved to painstakingly map out each little kitschy shop and dive bar over the months. Sure, it can be argued that Decatur is a separate city, but for the visitor or resident, this neighborhood is interchangeable with the city itself. This won't mean much if you're not familiar with Atlanta, but the detailed maps only go as far east as Moreland Ave., just managing to fit in Little Five Points.Still, that complaint is relatively small and I'm a little picky (biased, even--I live in the Decatur area, so I would have especially loved it). All in all, it's a great little book, and I still use it like crazy. Definately worth picking up if you're visiting or moving to ATL.

Perfect for the Organized Traveler
If you go on vacation with an itinerary of what to do and when to do it (maybe just short of scheduled bathroom breaks), you will understand what to do with this book.I did a lot of research before I left for London, and I translated it into my book. Instead of being organized by what day and time to do things, this journal is organized by category: restaurants, museum exhibits, etc. There are even labels for you to create. As I found something I wanted to make sure that I saw, I entered it in the journal in the appropriate section. I also entered my hotel address and phone number and circled it (and the nearest tube station) on the great maps). When I got to London, all I needed was this book. I would decide the night before in the hotel what I wanted to go see the next day (often based upon weather, etc.), and then I plotted the best way to get there on the Tube. I never used the tracing paper sheets in the back to outline my route, but I could have if things got complex or I needed to get directions from someone.I can't recommend this book enough. The only change I wish they would make is to expand the "journal" portion of it. I think that there are 79 pages of journal and, on a two-week trip, I used all 79 pages, plus the front sheet of the next section!

perfect little books
I love the Moleskine city books because they really help me to stay organized, and the maps make them especially useful. I buy them for any city I'm traveling to regardless of the journey's length (since I take them back if I travel there again) . I wish there were more cities they covered! Take a gluestick with you, paste your itinerary and contact info inside, and use it as a photo and or contact journal, for notes, receipts, business cards, names, new happenings, traffic, daily activities and events and sketch the little wonders you find. That way, when you get home, you'll know what you did on which day and how to advise others on their own trips.I'm an almost totally digital gal, but there is something unique and less annoying to others around you to have the jornal at the ready instead of the bright screen. It's very tangible and easy, even for kids. [[ASIN:8883709543 Moleskine City Notebook Vancouver]
