If the shoe fits, your toes are happy!
I just researched that runners are recommended to buy shoes half the size bigger than your actual shoe size since your toes and arch of your feet grow. Didn't know that fact when i bought this item. However, so far the shoe is great despite the snug fit. It took only 3 days to break in just from walking in them. I did 2 5k runs in them on pavement and on a wooded trail and it performed great with ease compared to my old sport Avia running shoes. As far as the size and weight ofbtge sneaker, it is kinda bulky for wooded trail running with all that venture 6 gel padding. It provides the support great, but bottom heavy for those wooded trails. I strongly recommend staying on paved and rocky trails with this sneaker. You can't really feel the wooded trails with this sneaker which is important when running long distance or exercising. Overall the support and color schemes are great. I still need to try these Asics on a "real" hiking trail to see how much arch and ankle support it provides. Its extremely comfortable and it breathes well. Asics do tend to run a smidge bigger compared to Nike runners, so keep that in mind when choosing the correct shoe size. I wear 8 1/2 mens, which i should have bought a size 9. If you don't buy half shoe size up, you will develop calluses and blisters and possibly toe cramps and arch issues. If the shoes also forces you to change the way you run, then that's not good. You need a bigger fitting sneaker. This is great for its market value. Still wish they had more brighter and color scheme options for men in running shoes. I get so jealous of the women's color schemes, they look so much better. Overall a great product and Asics comes highly recommended. A product that will last.

Love these shoes
Every morning I go for a 5-mile walk so about every 4-5 months I need a new pair of walking/running shoes. For years, I've worn shoes of another brand exclusively, because they were well made, comfortable and durable, but I ran into trouble when they needed to be replaced.I went to three local stores and was disappointed to find that every shoe in 'MY' brand was only stocked in wide or extra wide, and two of the three stores only had wide shoes. The last store only had some nice but too stiff and bulky trail running shoes and asics in normal width, and although I'd never used this brand before, I figured I'd give them a try.I normally wear a 10.5, and these gel venture 6 were a perfect fit. Another plus for these is the removable insole. I need to put a flexible steel insole in the shoe to reduce flexing of my toes because of a medical condition, so I can slip that underneath the shoe's normal insole. The day after buying them, I wore them on my daily walk and was amazed and how much more comfortable these were than any of my previous walking shoes. They felt pillow soft to walk on, with great cushioning, but they still provided excellent foot support. When that pair of shoes wore down to the point they needed to be replaced, the next pair was another gel venture 6 that I bought without even thinking of looking at another brand. The only issue I had with the shoes was that the laces are very smooth and would often untie themselves when walking, so I had to get into the habit of using a double knot when I tied the laces to prevent that from happening. Although that was an annoyance, I like these shoes so much I couldn't deduct a star because of that.

Good overall, could have been great
First, you have to heed the warninga and buy a size larger, I went with 11.5 after reading, and I wear 12s in other Asic shoes I own as well, don’t think it’s b***s***. Anyways, I like the shoes and find them comfortable, you can immediately tell they’re not runners or walkers though, because they’re incredibly light and have ventilation points on the side. I live in Maine, and it’s currently Winter up here, so the Snow is as heavy as you’d expect. I needed a shoe that I could wear at work, didn’t look ugly, was comfortable, but most importantly all-terrain. I walk on trails, the crappy roads, and ICE! These are sufficient for that purpose, but they don’t grip in ice so beware of that. I’ve seen a lot of reviews bashing this as opposed to Venture 5, I never wore them so that opinion is lost on me. These are a solid pair of shoes, but I’m gonna hit a couple points.• These don’t fit snug, sure you can lace them up, but they’ll move a bit as you wear them, guaranteed.• The tread on the bottom is a silly deaign, they should have done pin points or tear drops like every hiker or treking shoe you’ve ever seen, like ever...• I already said it but I’ll repeat, snow and ice is an absolute no go, concrete and tiles are hard on the soles, but for dirt backroads and soft tar (streets) they do a good job, which is the intention I guess. It’s a damn shame there isn’t additional padding and support, these had the potential to be all-rounders, but the company is squandering their strong points in favor of the original intention of a trail shoe, which is lame. Hope this helps people!!
