SteelexPlus D2803 Split Ring Depth Stop Set, 7-Piece

I went to use the 3/8" drill bit stop and the drill wouldn't go in . I loosened the screw to the point of falling out of the stop and sprayed WD-40 but the bit still wouldn't go in no matter how hard I pushed and twisted it. I wedged a screw driver in the split joint and tried to tap it open with a hammer. Still can't get it in. I tried twisting the screwdriver while trying to push the bit in and then it broke !!!! I worked in the special fab industry for many years and I know what I'm doing. I know that sometimes bad parts slip through every now and again but that doesn't help me now when I'm at a stand still because of it . I guess I'll buy a different type next time !!!!!!

Big mistake buying this. So far I have tried using 3 sizes. None would tighten properly on the sized bit as the steel is too hard and prevents tightening. When I tried tightening the last one the Allen wrench stripped. Using a set of Allen wrenches I have the Allen screw stripped before the stop tightened to the bit. I also have a set of machinist bits which come in thousands and found the collarss would only tighten on bits larger than the collar size specified. They are now in my scrap metal barrel!

these are junk, they may look like the best drill stops on Amazon, but they are cheap pieces of crap. the allen key does not fit, the ring will not tighten properly or straight. when it does tighten, the bottom end will crack and break, resulting in a very useless piece of crap. I unfortunately bought two sets because of shipping times, and now am stuck with 25 dollars worth of s***. maybe ill give them to a friend....

parts were substandard did not fit correctly, first one used when allen screw was tightened the entire drill stop broke in half rendering it useles, not recommended,

I purchased these a few years ago and never needed to use them until now but the allen wrench was the wrong size for the set screws. The set didn't have the size i needed so I can't review how it held to the bit or not. I didn't bring my allen wrench set with me because the right one was presumably in the package.

I found them to be a waste of money. I cannot get them to tighten without stripping out the set screw.

They worked somewhat fine, if you got the lock collar tight enough. I believe they are suited more for a drill press not a hand drill. If you put a lot of pressure against them they will slide up the drill bit

This is a very poorly made product. The allen wrench supplied did not fit the tightening screw well. Once you try to clamp the collar on the drill bit, the screw strips and the collar will never tighten securely on the bit. I found the product could not be made to operate as designed and returned the product.

Collars work well but allen key stripped after 3 uses. Tightening screws seem of very poor quality also, they seem to want to strip when used with a key of good quality.
