The bike was packaged well. Individual frame bars, handle bars, etc were wrapped in protective paper to prevent scratches. I had ordered a Huffy from Wal Mart, and it was poorly packaged. I had it shipped to store, and box was all beat up with holes in it, and there were not pedals in the bike, so I returned it for refund and ordered this one. A couple of issues that were not deal breakers. First the hole in the front wheel yoke were the front hand brake is mounted was drilled in at a slight angle vs. a straight, perpendicular hole to the face of the yoke. That put the front brake pads off at an angle where they don't seat flat on the rim. They are still functional, but since this is a bike that will be outgrown soon, and there is a coaster brake, I am not whacked out about it. Secondly, the Mattel Vrooom throttle is cheaply made. It worked a couple of minutes, then quit. It has plastic gears in it. They started sticking, and the throttle needle was all over the place. So, I went to Wal Mart and bought a set of red/black Schwinn handle grips to put on the bike. I cut off the small grip on the left/hand brake side. I had to cut about an inch off the Schwinn grip to make it short enough for this side of the handle bar, and I left the right side as it came in package to replace the Mattel junk grip. So, if you are buying this bike for the noise maker, I would think twice, otherwise, it seems to be a reasonable purchase.

The front tire is bent! After I had it all assembled and took it out (after Christmas) i was able to see the tire was bent. I wasn't going to take it apart and return it, plus I no longer had the packaging. It's more annoying than anything; the level my son is at for riding, it works just fine.

More than I expected. Built very well. It's the perfect size for my 4 year old grandson. The noise maker really sounds like a motorcycle. He loves it.

If you are considering purchasing this bike mainly due to the fact that it's the cheapest 14" bike you can find, then I can guarantee that you will get what you pay for. My biggest issue with this bike is the amount of time and modifications that I had to do to put it together. Don't expect to just take it out of the box tighten some bolts and be done. The rear tire was on crooked which was causing the chain to bind and it made it harder to pedal as well. It's an easy enough of an adjustment but required a lot of fiddling around to get it just right. Also, the bolt that held the front brakes on was also welded on out of center and crooked. I had to take pliers and bend it to center it over the wheel so the brakes would work right. This bike also comes with a handle (which is just for the right side) that makes revving sounds when it's rotated. I tested it before putting it on and it worked, however as soon as I got it tightened down on the handlebars it broke. I ended up having to take the whole sound-assembly apart and fixing it. This would be a serious pain for someone else. The bike should come with a spare handlebar grip in the case that someone doesn't want to install this cheap part. The rear tire needed air, and the front one was completely flat. Make sure you already have a bicycle tire pump!I'm really handy with tools and am an avid DIYer, but it ended up taking a good hour to get everything into alignment, fixed, and tested. I think it's still a good first bike if you can get past all the fixes and alignment issues. Time will tell if the sound thing still lasts and if the training wheels stay on.

My son loves his hot wheels bike and the fact it makes “motorcycle” sounds.

‘Santa’ gave this bike to my 5yr old son. He loves it, it’s the perfect size for him and it’s easy to ride. It’s a cool looking bike. Unfortunately there were a lot of missing accessories; right grip with Rev maker sound gauge, Kickstand and it’s components, training wheels (luckily my son can ride without them-yay!) front reflector, front and rear wheel reflectors, top tube cushion protector. *Some of these parts are not pictured on the bike in the ad post but are listed in the owners manual so I consider them missing. Also the rear wheel came damaged/bent. Luckily we were able to repair it enough to ride. I have submitted a case to the manufacturer, Dynacraft. They took about 1.5 weeks to get back to me and asked for more pictures and proof of purchase. So we’ll see what happens. Also the tire went flat after riding over a thorn, we patched the tube with no problems since. This manufacturer’s quality control is obviously lacking. Even though my son loves his bike, I would purchase a different bike if I had to do it over.

The bike was fairly easy to put together, even without directions (the bike comes mostly assembled). The brake is a little loose but can be tightened (it does loosen over time). The bike is sturdy and my four year old son definitely likes the looks of it.However, the bike is quite heavy and difficult to maneuver uphill.
