I have way too many solar lights, I just like "free" solar power and the convenience of not having to run electricity to a light. Unfortunately, many of the solar lights I have purchased in the past were made of flimsy plastic and usually only lasted a season or two before they self-destructed.I had high hopes for this solar light kit as from the listing it appeared most of the components were made from metal (aluminum alloy) and were of a higher quality than be cheaper plastic housed solar lights I have purchased in the past.Well, one it arrived I was not disappointed. The solar light reflector, gooseneck, and mounting brackets are all metal. The frame for the solar panel is also metal (aluminum) and even the wall mount inserts are metal.I also like the aluminum allow for the reflector has a weather resistant finish that will withstand corrosion a lot better than bare aluminum. The silver color also does not absorb heat like a black finish or yellow like white finishes are prone too.Mounting is easy with just two fasteners for the solar panel and two for the light. I like that the power cord for the solar light uses a removable barrel plug that can be unplugged from the light and removed. The plug is less than 3/8" giving me the option to mount the light inside after drilling a 3/8" for the power cord to pass from the solar panel that can be up to 26' away.The light produced by this solar light is a lot brighter than I thought it would be. And the remote allows me to not just turn the light off and on, but to set brightness levels and set on times anywhere from 1 to 8 hours with the touch of one button.I purchased this light to use outdoors, but may end up using it in my garage. I am still deciding on that or I may just have to purchase another one.Hopefully some of this information was helpful. If I experience any issues with this solar light will update this review.

After trying a couple of solar lights from the nationwide chain hardware stores, I found this on Amazon.This light and its solar panel are solidly constructed of stainless steel and aluminum and built to last; the others I'd tried were cheap plastic.Mounting the solar panel was easy, just a couple screws and done. A small hole through the wall for the cable, plugged the cable into the light, mounted the light to the ceiling, and I have a convenient light for my outbuilding. This saved me the cost of running wire to the building, and will work even if power fails!The remote control is a big plus, with its ability to dim the light and set it to automatically shut off. I tested its automatic on at dusk feature and it worked well, but I'll not be using that feature since I'm using the light indoors.Light output is plentiful even on the lowest setting.

I loved this light...it lasted all night on the constant on setting. I had to place the solar panel a good distance from the lamp to get recharged, and unfortunately cut through the cord with my grass trimmer. I wish there was some way to replace.

We have an off the grid cabin (no available electricity) in which, until recently, we have depended on propane lights. Thanks to modern technology, in the last 2 years, we began using small solar powered lights. However, they only stayed lit for about an hour and it took 3-4 of them to light up our main room. This summer I was on the hunt for one, large solar light that could illuminate the entire room and stay on for at least 4 hours. This light is it. It's wonderful. The "neck" of the light is adjustable so it can fit several scenarios. It comes with a very long cord that connects the panel and the light. So while the solar panel is on the roof, the light is in the middle of the room without having to cut a hole in the ceiling. It stays lit for at least 8 hours (I haven't really tried longer than that). The remote control is easy to use and has a bunch of great options. My family and I are very happy with this purchase.

The bulb is very bright as other reviews have pointed out. The light and solar panel seem very durable. The installation instructions are mysterious and unclear. I ended up using long wood screws for my installation since there was no explanation of the bolts provided. The big problem is that the remote battery dies every month! I have gone through 3 batteries since installation. Being that the remote is the ONLY way to turn on the light it’s very problematic to have a faulty remote. And for that reason, I’m out.

Easy installation. Better than expected. I installed this light to supplement another solar powered light I purchased earlier. Unlike the other solar powered light the remote for this one worked. I am impressed.

The remote is of very poor quality. Some time it works and some time not, any jostling and it will stop working. I bought this for light in a shed, it gives good light but it can't be trusted.
