O'NEILLMen's 21 Inch Solid Boardshorts-Water Resistant Swim Trunks for Men with Quick Dry Stretch Fabric and Pockets

First the good: these fit as expected (I bought one of the larger sizes) and seem to be well-made (although I have only worn them for a minute to try them on). I am also happy with the color (anthracite), feel, and finish of the fabric.Now the bad: I bought them in Anthracite color and they are so unlike the photographs that I am returning them. I bought these because they looked like nice shorts for when I am NOT swimming. Sometimes I want to stop at a restaurant on the way to the beach, but not look like I am wearing a bathing suit in the restaurant; or I take my kids to a pool party with no intention of swimming myself, but I want to be prepared in case I have to jump in to save them. The photographs show a round logo on the bottom of the left leg. Not desirable, but I can accept that. The photographs did not show the hip pocket, but there is another logo there. Unfortunate again, but I guess I can live with that too. What I hate is that all the way down one leg it says ‘O’NEILL’ in giant letters. Why would I want another man’s name plastered on my pants? One little pair of shorts and there are three sizable logos! It’s like a NASCAR car except instead of getting sponsorship dollars, I have to pay for the privilege of being a walking billboard for some company. Aside from being tacky anywhere, it screams, “Yes, I am wearing a bathing suit in your restaurant.” On top of that, the first two logos are at least nicely stitched, but the giant logo feels plasticky and interrupts the lay of the fabric. It’s too bad they ruined an otherwise nice suit.

I'm 6' 5" and weigh 185lbs and the size 33 fit me perfectly. I was worried they wouldn't cinch down enough with the tie not going all around the waist, but they seem to. Have not worn them swimming yet, but wanted to post a review with photos since there was only one other customer-submitted review.

Ordered the one on the left last fall. It was slightly too small. I really like it so decided to order one size up. Got it today (on the right) not the same as what I ordered or what is described. Not impressed with the big “O’NEILL” text. Will be returning them. I liked the simple logo but the text is just weird and goofy looking.

This is not the minimalist design pictured. There are giant letters saying “ONIELL” across the leg as pictured below. I was looking for a pair of board shorts that could double as nice shorts in case I wanted to sit down and eat after hitting up the beach or pool. This is NOT that type of board short. This listing needs to be removed and updated. Do not buy if you are looking for what is pictured in the product pictures. Very disappointed! I’m going back to my favorite brand: Hurley!

I purchased four pair of these shorts. All four are different than what is advertised. The shorts have the word "O'NEILL" written down the leg in EXTREMELY LARGE OBNOXIOUS LETTERS. THEY LOOK RIDICULOUS. The pics that the seller includes don't show the lettering which was obviously done intentionally because noone would buy these if they were advertised correctly. Don't buy from this seller unless you want some goofy looking shorts. I'll be returning all four pair. Such an inconvenience.

I was really Leary , AFTER I placed the order for these Truly Awesome O’NEILL 2.0 Board Shorts . Why you ask ??Cause after I placed the order , dummy me started to read more reviews .A lot of disappointment people complaining about the Big O’NEILL logo on the side of the shorts .I thought “ Oh Please NO “!!!!( looks like I’m going to have to return ).I don’t want that logo . I think the smaller circle logo is sufficient.So I’m really nervous about receiving the package now .Yesterday, July 28 2021 , I received the package .Really hesitant about it .When I removed from the package , I unfolded the shorts .The back of them is now facing me .They look great !!!Then I turned them over ……NO LOGO !!!!!!!“ Did I find a Diamond in the Rough “???? ( I thought to myself ).“ Did they remove all the ones with the big logo “?????I’m so curious now !!!I don’t want to recommend these shorts to anyone with that in mind .I mean some may want and like that big advertisement haha .I sincerely hope that they got rid of them !My only complaint is ….. they did not have size 38 in stock .So I went next size down ( 36 ).They are a little snug but I’m on a mission to lose more weight .Been doing very good so far .I’m currently at 236 pounds and stand 6 feet 1 “.My jeans are mostly size 38 .My older jeans are too tight at a 36 . ( but I can get in them ).I recommend ordering your normal size but if you go down a size it won’t be the worst thing in the world .I was going to return these for a 38 ….. but then I thought “ 1- they don’t have In stock and 2- Crap !! What if they send me a 38 with that big logo on the side “!!!????I’ll stick with these haha .God Bless and Good Luck !

Just received this today and husband approved of it. He’s 5’10” 175lbs. I ordered size 33 for him and it was a perfect fit AND length. He’s very particular with the length of his shorts in general (i.e., should cover his knees) and this pair falls just passed his knees. He loves it.

My last name is Smith but these said O'Neill on them for some reason. I caved to peer pressure and introduced myself as Mr. O'Neill to everyone at the beach. That was over a month ago. The name kind of stuck so I had my name legally changed so that I don't have to lie to strangers anymore. My first name is actually Neil so I feel sort of silly now having the name Neil O'Neill and I always need to explain that it's actually Neil with just one L. I'm just glad I found a special lady recently at the beach who likes me despite my odd name. I don't know her first name yet but she confirned my guess that her last name is Quicksilver. I can tell these things just by looking at someone. It's like a gift of sorts. I can guess people's weight with nothing but a scale. Not bragging. Well, back to surfing for me! Bought this style as they were shown without the oneill in big letters written down the side however this is how they arrived so false advertising really.
