I was a little worried about this replacement case as it’s an aftermarket reproduction. I decided to put the individual parts on a scale to compare the weight of the plastic to the original parts. Most weights were similar, with only the outer shell being slightly thinner and lighter. Just don’t over tighten the tri wing screws in the bottom and nothing should distort.The clear replacement screen was garbage. I expected that as soon as I saw only one side was covered with protective paper, the glue side. The screen itself scratched easily with a single fingernail. I recommend getting an upgraded glass screen from another supplier on amazon or using your original if it’s still in good shape.The buttons and controls seem pretty good, although the kit I got was missing the volume slider switch. I was going to use the original buttons from my game boy advance sp anyway, because I don’t trust these cheap reproductions.The real reason for this purchase was to give new life to an old game boy advance sp. I bought this thing new for my daughter when she was little, her first one was a used pink advance and I bought this on launch for her birthday. She was a huge Zelda fan (still is) and I thought “what a great gift it would be if I restored her old Gameboy advance Sp and replaced the chewed on food encrusted case with a Majoras Mask case!”Time flies my friends, my daughter will be 24 in December! Her present this year is going to be her old dead gameboy advance sp that I have held on to all these years. It’s all redone and working like new, and she’s getting some of her old long lost games along with it, like Zelda Minish Cap and Four Swords, Sonic Advance 1,2, and 3, as well as her favorite gameboy color games Zelda Oracle of Seasons and Ages with new game save batteries installed.All that’s left to do is install the glass screen Amazon will be delivering in a couple days, pack it in it’s original box, wrap it up in spongebob wrapping paper just like I did all those years ago and wait until she comes home for her birthday. She’s still a huge gamer and loves the old stuff probably more than I do. I think she’ll be happy!

The shell as a whole is very good quality. The only thing I had a problem with was the hinge caps. I had to shave the excess plastic to get them to fit into the housing. Other than that it isn't noticable and looks great.

The media could not be loaded.  My uncle put it together after it arrived. *He used my older original sticker for the back. No complaints here! Video speaks for itself. Mines a 101 light.

I would get your screwdriver somewhere else. I didn’t even finish getting the original case off my GameBoy before the screwdriver started failing.

There were some slight imperfections in the plastic and it came with a chip near the L button, but because they were in minuscule and in places I would never notice, I chose not to care.My only problem was actually with the hinge covers, they don’t fit. I had finished assembling everything but the hinges, and when I went to place them inside, the plastic on the edges of the covers stopped them from going in. I tried to remove them to try again but only ended up scratching the sides of my system and getting the hinges themselves stuck. I want to remove it but because the plastic is so much thinner than the original, I’m afraid of breaking it.

Make sure you have your own screwdrivers if you buy this product. The actual shell was fine and in good condition, but the screwdrivers provided didn't work. The tri-wing screwdriver provided did absolutely nothing. I tried to use it to take apart my first GBA SP, but it couldn't turn a single screw. I thought maybe the issue was because my screws had worn down, so I had to break the old shell off and ended up cutting my finger. As it turns out, the screwdriver didn't work for the new screws either. I suggest buying your own Nintendo repair kit, as opposed to relying on the screwdrivers provided.
