Mystic Faerie Tarot

To be honest, I bought this item because I know Barbara Moore. But as soon as I opened it and began reading the explanations of the cards and studying the detail on each, I found myself unable to put the book down. Like many people, I have had my cards read over the years, but I always found the images rather foreboding and even creepy, and never had I taken the time to learn specifically about the images and their meanings.The Mystic Faerie Tarot cards themselves are very beautiful. The artist did a magnificent job setting forth each detail and symbol. You can study each card over and over and still find something new and delightful the next time you look.The companion book is easy to read and understand and written with heart-felt sincerity. I found that just by reading it, I had a better understanding of my own path and it gave me much to think about. And I really enjoyed finally learning for myself what these ancient cards mean.Maybe you're a novice like me, curious and looking for a simple and fun way to learn about the world of Tarot. If so, the Mystic Faerie Tarot set seems like a great and fun place to start.

This book came early, it looks brand new in very good condition, very good bang for your buck it is definitely worth the money and the price was cheap.

This is the most lovely of all the tarot decks I have ever seen or used. I have the Rider Waite deck as well, and while its images and archetypes are more pronounced and embedded in the collective mind of tarot enthusiasts than these, I find the Mystic Faerie Tarot to be far more intuitive for seeking personal insight. Certainly, these cards hold no power on their own. They cannot be really be "charged" or "cleansed" with full moonlight, infused with one's own magical energy, or used to divine secret knowledge or future events. Rather, someone seeking true magic within him or herself will discover a wealth of personal knowledge based simply on reactions and introspection inspired by the imagery and descriptions of the cards selected during a reading. In the sense that they bring self awareness, they can help guide the thoughts inside you that you were out of touch with before. That is immensely valuable in itself. For this reason, I recommend this deck above Rider Waite and many others. It assists us in shedding our light on the shadowed places in ourselves without casting more shadows.

I feel like this set has not offered me a strong foundation with card interpretation, and the cards themselves do not offer great cues. I ended up purchasing a separate book with Tarot card interpretation (Tarot Plain and Simple by Anthony Louis) and history which, in combination with the cards from this set, are working beautifully.I feel like this would be the perfect set for a young girl interested in Tarot as the cards based on the art and the stories in the book . In addition, cards such as "Death" and "The Devil" are not intimidating for the younger audience. This strikes me as the perfect gift for a whimsical young teenage girl! I can also see this as a great set for someone with in-depth experience reading Tarot who feels comfortable with the meanings of the cards already. The art is so beautiful that it would be a lovely addition to any Tarot card collector or enthusiast.The artwork is without a doubt the highlight of this deck! Anyone with a whimsical side will appreciate this deck!

I'm new to the tarot. I've studied the Rider-Waite standard a bit and I own the Gilded deck, but bought this deck on impulse because I'm a sucker for great artwork. This deck is sometimes a little hard to interpret for me as a beginner, but the stories in the book are beautiful and give me something to think of in the interpretation, which makes them easier to remember.The book also includes some original, fairy-inspired spreads like the "Fairy Ring" and "Acorn to Oak" that have given more depth to my readings and ideas for my own, original spreads. It's definitely a beautiful deck worth having for anyone interested in the tarot (especially very artistic decks), even if it may take a little longer for beginners to learn, because it is still a more or less standard deck.

Wow, I am in love with this deck. It resonates with older people as well! It's a very light-hearted feel and follows the rider-waite pretty well. But I will say that I feel you need to have the basic knowledge of the meanings of the rider deck before using this one, it's not a learning deck but more a character deck that will appeal to your whimsical side, if you have one. The cards are beautifully illustrated and the book that comes with it is really a magical addition. The story that accompanies each suit is pretty genius! They made a fairy-tale to explain the cards in a very memorable way and I thought it was the most unique tarot I have ever seen. I wasn't sure when ordering if this was a boxed set including the deck and the 288 page book, yes it is! This is my wife and I's favourite tarot right now. The stories that take you through each of the minor arcana really engage you with the meaning of the card and the imagery. She's never been one for memorizing, but now she can recall a memorable story, and can attach significance to the cards more easily. Definitely a beautiful and well thought out deck.
