So far our #1 choice book on cavaliers!
We have another book on Cavaliers and we love the one by Norma. It is a very detailed, yet simple "hands on" book. We got it a few weeks after we got our puppy and it really includes everything. Plus its not one of those "cook only homemade meals" type of a book. Its very user friendly and it clearly states the priorities for each topic. It has amazing day schedule for your puppy as well as shopping lists and other useful resources. Not much talking around, straight to the point! Love it!

Informative book - two thumbs up!
I have read at least a half of dozen books about Cavalier King Charles Spaniels in anticipation of getting our puppy in a month and I have to say, this book is the best one thus far. Very informative, easy to read and nice photos. I read it in one sitting and learned a ton - especially about grooming and feeding. It has a checklist of items you will need for your new puppy too. I really, really liked this book. I highly recommend it to anyone who is getting or thinking about getting a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Best For First Time Dog Owners
A good source of info about the Cavalier origins and nuances of the breed but the general information will not enlighten those who either have dogs now, no matter what the breed, or have previously owned a dog. Lots of the information in this book is common sense. A nice book but not for the experienced owner.

Everything you need to know...
This is a very informational book on these darling little dogs! It is my "go to" book, as I am preparing to have an addition to our family very soon...an 8-week-old little girl! I had a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel several years ago...and needed to refresh my knowledge of them.

Your Happy Healthy Pet Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
This is an excellent well rounded book written by someone who really knows and loves the breed. It is a hardcover with 144 pages of good information and great photos. If you are new to the breed and are getting only one book, this is the one to buy. It covers almost everything you can think of, although doesn't cover breeding much because serious breeders and exhibitors discourage people from breeding dogs, which they believe is best left to the people who know the breed standards and health concerns.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel: Your Happy Healthy Pet
Excellent informational book on how to take care of your King Cavalier from puppy to all the training and games you can do to help the dog be happy. Information on taking care of his health. Beautiful bright color pictures of Cavaliers in their different stages of life. Excellent book.

Cavalier Spaniel Owner's Manual
This book is full of information about the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed of dogs. Cavalier's are special to many people and people are special to Cavaliers. Truly a "Lap Dog", the book explains many of the characteristics that might seem different than most dogs. Maybe that is why King Charles chose this breed as his own!! Owning the dog, and then reading the book, gives a much clearer understanding of Cavalier Spaniels. An excellent book for any Cavalier Spaniel owner. Five Stars!!

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Wanted a book for information when my puppy came home. Useful and informative, very pleased with purchase as some books can be a silly price with similar text.

Decent Information, But Not As Specialized As You'd Think
As a long-time fancier of purebred dogs - and in particular the Cavalier - I purchased the book to see what an influential fancier to the breed had to say. While the information in the book is definitely solid, it tends to be a bit more generalized than I had initially expected. I purchased the book expecting it to be more about Cavaliers than the common-sense, all-breed information that's provided. That's not to say it's not good information - the suggested schedule is something that I thought was fairly decent, and the introductory training chapter was all right, I suppose - but it's just not quite what you'd expect. On the plus side, there is some great information about the history of the breed, as well as some lovely photos and a layman's explanation of the breed standard. I also enjoyed the bits about some of the breed-specific quirks, which I haven't quite found in many other Cavalier books.Rated three stars for generally good information, but fell a bit short in terms of the Cavalier specifics I was hoping for from the Brinklow founder herself.
