Basic Japanese

Great book to learn more than basic Japanese. Each lesson starts with a manga illustration, basic sentences, basic vocabulary, culture note, then grammars explanations, conversation (dialog), and exercises (with the answer in a small print at the end of the same page to correct yourself) which cover the explanation of the previous lesson. I really like it, the explanations are clear and easy to understand, there are more vocabulary and example phrases in the grammar section, the CD has the audio for the basic sentences, vocabulary and dialogs, if you don't have a CD player, you could download the mp3 files from the Tuttle Publications download section. I think it is a great book and I am glad I bought it. I recommend!

Don’t let the “beginner” tag line fool you! This book is a gem even for students further in their language journey. Going into my 3rd year of study, and find this to be a handy book for reviewing prior grammar points and vocabulary, and to continue to improve my speaking and listening skills.

A good basic entry level book

Cannot evaluate the text itself because I just got started a short time ago. Decided to listen to the CD to check for pronunciation. The CD was cracked...cannot be played. Can you send me just a replacement CD? Have already started using the book.
