A Manual - 40 Questions and Answers Section was worthwhile, rest was not so much
The first half of the book was a difficult read in that it was hard to follow where the author was trying to take me. It was disjointed. The second section of the book, A Manual - 40 Q&A was a redemption. It was useful and clearly laid out.

Latest in a string of recent ayahuasca guidebooks. There are better out there.
This is the latest in a long line of ayahuasca "guides" to come out in the last few years. Quite frankly, I'm not sure why we need another but if you're going to read one, I would recommend Javier Regueiro's "Ayahuasca: Soul Medicine of the Amazon Jungle: A Comprehensive and Practical Guide." Javier is an actual shaman, a Spaniard who has spent the last 10 years living in Peru full-time as a shaman and has actually dedicated his life to healing people. Jan Kounen is a film-maker who has drunk a bunch of ayahuasca. Which perspective would you prefer? Personally, I'd rather read about ayahuasca from someone who is living it than from an ayahuasca tourist.

A filmmaker's Ayahuasca journeys
This book's subtitle should be "A filmmaker's Ayahuasca journeys". As such, it's an interesting read. There's a Q&A section at the end that gives information on the medicine, but nothing close to a "Manual for Therapeutic and Spiritual Journeys"
