Great product, Im not using it for fishing as much as mapping contours with navionics to scout out lakes for seaplane operations, great little product, seems well built and does exactly what it says it does.

This could be the best thing since they invented T.P. We'll have to wait and see.
Very simple to set up. Just follow the instructions for the Vexilar App.Still waiting for the last ice to thaw so I can try it on the open water. Bucket tested it using my Galaxy Tab2 7.1 inch tablet. Looks very promising. If it does as well as I think it will, I'll bump it from 4 to 5 stars. It comes with a basic app from Vexilar that gives you a pretty nice color display. Would be better if you cold customize the screen more but that's what updates are for.The REAL interesting feature though is when you pair it with the Navionics App. I plunked down a few bucks for the USA Charts version. Now I have a split screen GPS Chart with lake bottom contours along side my sonar return. Set up was plug-n-play after running the Vexilar app to pair the tablet and sonar.THEN to make it EVEN MORE interesting the Naviaonix App allows you to create your own contour map IN REAL TIME! Again, I only did a bucket test, but in a few minutes walking around with a 5 gallon bucket this thing generated a nice little topo of the imaginary pond in my back yard. There was no setup invloved for this.Biggest problem I see is the visibility of the tablet screen in full sun. One other thing, it looks promising for ice fishing; the transducer hangs nice and level when suspended from the cable.I will have to write more once I see how it handles the data collected for making and saving the real time maps. This data can apparently be shared via the Navionics site so the real time charts get crowd sourced to develop new charts over time. Again, it will be interesting to see how they handle all this data and weed out bad info that wold otherwise contaminate the charts.
