Yes, Master Bruce
I've watched all 100 episodes of Gotham during lockdown and so this review is for the most part for the whole series and not just season 5.Why only three stars for what has generally been an above average series given that this is a formulaic Hollywood production? The final episode, what a let-down – another bomb, p-lease! Series 5 only had 12 episodes instead of 22, but if they'd had any sense they would have finished on number 11. Unfortunately the best characters were given shabby treatment in the twelfth episodeAnd who were the best characters and the highlights of the whole series? That's easy Penguin, Robin Lord Taylor; Riddler, Cory Michael Smith; and Joker, Cameron Monaghan (though we can't mention the J word because of copyright – this for an almost 70 year old character. Get a grip studio executives). What fun these three were and because the actors were good, they could get away with all their characters twists and turns, even when they were nonsensical. Most affecting was Robin Lord Taylor who could do psycho one moment and pathos the next. Poor Penguin, he only wanted to be loved, whether it was by his mother, Ed, Martin or Edward the dog. What were the lowlights. Silly Selina. Goodness, if there was ever a fish (no pun intended) out of water it was this actress. Clearly, the writers had problems giving her anything to do and for the most part she just hung around doing very little except as Brucey's bit of fluff. I recommend fast forwarding when ever she appears, you'll never know the difference. This is actually the best of the DC series I've seen and so with caveats it makes a good watch and sometimes a great watch. There are excellent subtitles and the standard of the special effects and overall picture quality is generally very high.

Great series. Rip-off price !
Great series > Although , being charged the same cost for a full season whereas this is half a season in length is a tad cheeky.

EVER MORE DARK AS BRUCE EVOLVES INTO BATMAN
Gotham, where the sun never shines. Now all is even more grim - with all its access bridges destroyed, the city completely isolated. Gangs abound, each with its own sector. Jim Gordon's cops do their best, as villains do their worst. Explosions in plenty. A high body count. Urgently wanted is a saviour. In twelve episodes this final season shows how Bruce gradually becomes that.Fans of the genre will probably find much to delight. Others, less enchanted, may become overwhelmed by non-stop violence and general nastiness - not to mention the tiresome ploy of villains declared dead soon very much alive again. Ever present is the deep delving into highly troubled minds. The overall message seems to be that Good and Evil lurks within us all, it not taking much to shift the balance. Hence, flawed heroes, consciences forever jabbing; seemingly totally flawed villains occasionally showing a better side. (Who would have thought of Penguin and Ngma uniting with Jim to thwart an even greater enemy!)Interesting bonuses. Sensibly on Disc 1 is a ComicCon session, it far better handled than most - thankfully spared a near hysterical audience and general silliness. Instead creators and cast helpfully explain what this final season tries to achieve, remaining true to the spirit of both graphic novels and films. Disc 3 has a feature on how Bruce has evolved. There is also a study of villains encountered not just by him but by Arrow, the Flash, Superman, Supergirl and others. There can be no doubting this season does what it sets out to do. Five stars for that. Why then only three stars? Because, sadly, I did not like it very much.

Why am I only giving this fantastic series only three stars?
This is by far the best DC comic book series out there, so why am i only giving this 3 stars? Well thats easy..only 2 blu ray disc..instead of 4. In other words , the makers of this series have chosen to rip off all the fans of Gotham that have put down their hard cash to support this series. Begging the question ..will I buy "Batman? The answer is ..I will! Even so, for the price of £30.00,.. this is a disgrace!

GOTHAM SERIES 5 DVD
My wife loves this, tho why I can't truly say. We have watched all 4 series and now the final one. Could it get any darker? Well, yes! Violent too with too many beatings up for my taste....but, it is very well made and acted, and with the return of Morenna Baccarin my enjoyment increased somewhat. Still not my favourite show, but millions love it. If you like dark, brooding, violent shows, and are interested in the "Batman" origins, start from series One!!

Great series.
This series of Gotham is good I don't care what others say about the characters being to short in stature, it doesn't matter, short people have a right to be super heroes as well and if someone can't wait or a film to be released it's no good blaming Amazon.

So much promise.
This series has always been awesome but that last episode was just really really bad they took years of mythology and threw it away and what in gods name did they do to Selina?

The Downward Spiral
The weakest season out of them all. So much to clean up before the series finale and so little time to give them strong and fresh closure. Gotham was at its best without needing to rush things, the 22-episode span was cut for 12 in Season 5 and it’s very telling.
