Not square, tang not parallel, going back
There are other inexpensive steel squares sold through Amazon, such as Steelex D3383 which have published specs so that the buyer has a better expectation of what they are getting. This product has none, so I figured it would at least be as good as other similar products I have bought in the past. What I found was that over 2" the square was 0.026" out of square on the outside, but acceptably square in the inside. That kind of variation, and lack of squareness just doesn't work for what I am trying to do, and I will have to return the unit, and look for a better one. Too bad.

Very out of square.
I compared this square to that of a known good square. And it was at least very off. The surface finish if pretty bad too. Looks like a toddler cleaned it up with a crappy file.

Not square!
If the whole point of a square is to keep you aligned then the square better be square. This one is not. At only 2" it was noticeably off. When I pushed on it it pivoted back into place, so the fact that it can wiggle a bit is an issue in and of itself. Ironically after suspecting it wasn't square I checked it against the 4" version which actually was square. It's cheap sure, but it's no good if it doesn't do the one thing it's supposed to.

Solid Construction, but sadly not square out of the package
Pros: Inexpensive, Solid ConstructionCons: Not truly square on outside anglePurchased this item as recommended by an excellent YouTube woodworker. Intended use is to quickly check square on small woodworking items. Inside square was true but outside edge was out of square after traveling 1" up the blade by ~ 0.01 inches (about 2-3 sheets of 20# printer paper). Was very disappointed that my square wasn't square. Initially requested a return, but upon further thought, just used several known-good squares and a trusty file to true the outside angle.TLDR: Good price, but you may need to spend a few minutes tuning it to your liking

Useless Junk!
I bought two of these. One was plus .5-1 degree, and one was minus .5-1 degree. Unfortunately I didn't notice until after the return deadline. They both went into the trash can. I ended up ordering the Woodpecker version instead which is a lot more expensive, but at least I know for sure that it's accurate.

VERY useful for setting up tools and ensuring squareness of tight ...
Small (intended to be!) design is compact and reliable. VERY useful for setting up tools and ensuring squareness of tight tolerances one smaller pieces. Its not as accurate as my Starret, but then again its accurate "enough" at a fraction of the price. I don't have enough care or time to measure out the difference, its below 2 thousandths of an inch( aka 1/2 the thickness of a sheet of paper), which for woodworking and tool setting is just fine. For fine machining work, obviously get the pedigreed squares.Taking a star away due to the lack of attention to the top of the inset part. Not a crucial part, but could have been more useful otherwise.

JUNK
Not, repeat NOT, square in ANY dimension ..... I checked it against a speed square as well as 2 combination squares and the blade is off by AT LEAST 1/16 over it's 2" length ... the inside angle is <90° so I'll grind it down for my purpose (I would have modified it anyway most likely which is why I bought a cheap one). For the price I didn't expect perfection but this is ridiculous ...
