Best thing I've ever brought
I took a risk as this product had no stars, though I've only had it a few days. I must say it's absolutely fantastic. The instructions are very basic, but it's very easy to work out. I filled it up with water and have not regretted my decision. It doesn't leak, though I wouldn't advice moving it around when the tank is full. Its very light and though it is made from plastic it has a nice look about it. It's very compact, runs pretty quiet and I find it much better than a ordinary fan. So far I have found the lowest speed setting very adequate for my 12ft x 11ft bedroom. My favourite part is the fact that the vents can be moved into any position from downward to upward draft. It is ideal because I don't like a direct draft. The sleep mode is very quiet and found I slept well.

Good unit for a very small room. Not every effective unless it’s right next to you.
People seem to have unrealistic expectations for this product. It’s an air cooler not an air conditioner. It seems to work fine if you’re close by it but not really any more effective than a fan. The air being pushed out is much cooler than a fan in this hot weather we’ve been having however it’s let down by a poor fan unit so unless you stand right next to it it’s not much use. It does what it says it does and personally I should have gone for a bigger unit to try to cool down my south facing conservatory. This poor little unit didn’t stand a chance. However I’m very happy with what it does and how it does it. A couple of complaints- 1. The buttons are touch buttons and extremely sensitive. 2. It has blue lights on the front which scroll across constantly when switched off but left plugged in (very annoying, why do this?) overall very happy with the product

Works OK but build quality poor
Bought one of these for use on our boat but have used it at home in between. When unpacked I found the vertical vanes which oscillate in "swing" mode were just stuffed into the space behind the front louvres. I had to straighten these, locate the bottom ends into the correct sockets and clip each vane into the horizontal bars which drive them. Overall the unit provides a stream of cool humidified air as it should, but the build quality is quite poor and the unit is noisy on startup. The unit has lots of features, but the instruction manual does not describe all of them properly. Overall a good concept let down by Chinese build quality.

Useless.
It's just a loud fan at the end of the day. The fan works fine, it's just extremely loud compared to others I have which are practically silent. The 'cold' function where it sucks in warm air and spits out cold air (the only thing I needed it to do!) did absolutely nothing to lower the temperature of the room. It spat out the same temperature air as the small 12" desk fans were doing. This was after the two provided ice blocks and a bag of ice cubes into the water tank. It's completely unfit for purpose. Avoid it and spend £10 on a desk fan. It'll do the same as this thing managed, but quietly.

Excellent value for money!
Good buy. Definitely cools the room, especially when used with the ice packs. Wasnt expecting it to cool the room much but was pleasantly surprised. The unit is easy to move around and not too large. The instructions are basic but easy to understand. The unit is rather quiet when running, slightly quieter than a fan. I would recommend this product.

Good for a small area, easy to use.
I like that it is quiet, portable, comes with ice packs and has many settings to adjust. I have a large room so it cannot lower the temperature very much overall, but because it manoeuvres so well you can cool a portion of the room (in my case, the part where my chinchilla lives) very nicely. You may need a bigger solution for a large lounge area with high ceilings. I have a temp/humidity sensor so can tell you the difference is about 1.5 degree C in my particular conditions. It will not raise humidity more than 2-4 points if you have good airflow (open doors and windows). We switch out the ice packs, 1 at a time in the tank. To put it in the bottom reservoir you take off the back panel and honeycomb. You can put it in the top easily too which works because the water circulates up there via the pump and trickles down though the filter when in cool mode. The only cons are it lacks a memory of your last settings when you turn the unit on again, and the beep seems quite loud to me but YMMV. Overall I'm enjoying this appliance and it is good to have in Scotland, we only get a few hot days a year so I didn't want to spend too much on something that would spend the majority of the year in my loft.

Good given the price
This thing isn't super powerful, but it's pretty effective given how small and cheap it is.It's helped massively in combination with our standing fan to keep our ground floor flat cool during the heatwave. I wouldn't recommend for someone who need something strong and for prolonged use - but as an aid for a few days in the year it's pretty good

Totally Ineffective and Expensive to Return
Sadly, this proved to be little more than a normal fan that pushes warm air around. I added both water and ice packs and no difference and even on the highest setting the airflow was quite weak compared to my tower fan which, at the half the price and no hassle with water, performed much better. Don’t bother, buy a tower fan instead and if you want cold air then an air conditioner rather than cooler seems the only way to go. Also, just to note, it cost me £20 to send it back which won’t be refunded by the seller and so far I’ve not have a refund for the price of the product yet either. Not a happy customer I’m afraid :(
