Huey Fong Sambal Oelek Chili Paste, absent from our lives due to the great chili pepper famine of whenever, has graced us once again with its presence. I'd say I was lost without it, but that would imply I have any sense of direction to begin with.Now, I'm not one for hyperbole, but this chili paste is so good, I've started putting it on everything. My morning coffee? Improved. My midnight ice cream? Spiced up. My toothpaste? Well, let's just say my dentist is concerned.The fact that it comes in a two-pack is a blessing. One for the kitchen, one for my nightstand. Because God forbid I have to walk all the way downstairs at 3 AM when I need a spoonful of fiery goodness to lull me back to sleep.Of course, the universe couldn't let this reunion be too perfect. One jar decided to pull a Houdini during transit, escaping its lidded prison and redecorating the inside of the package. I always wanted my mail to look like a crime scene, so really, it's a win-win.In conclusion, if you enjoy food that fights back, or if you simply want to feel something, anything in this numb existence of ours, I highly recommend this chili paste. The product tastes amazing. I like spicy not too spicy ( according to my taste) . It goes with almost everything. I love that will spring rolls, puff pastry, spaghetti , pasta even steamed vegetables!!

I know I've bought a big jar a couple of months ago for under $4 and these 2 small jars are more than twice what that big jar was. This stuff must not be in season in August because everywhere I look right now it is really expensive compared to what it was. Did we have another chili pepper draught this year? I do love this stuff though, especially on eggs or in soup. But if the prices don't go back down, I'm back to using Frank's.

Hey, friend.So you like spicy stuff? As a fellow "hot head" I will say this is not spicy at all but it is super tasty. It's not overly salty and there's a good balance of chili and garlic. It's very good with zucchini, squash, and onion stir fry over rice
