I hope this Review and Video are helpful - We have a large Monitor in a guest room and this over-the-air Tuner turns it into a TV.1-- This TV Tuner serves us really well, turning a 32" Computer Monitor into a TV2-- Got 40+ channels with an over-the-air antenna3-- The Tuner is very compact at 5.3"x3"x1"4-- The Menu system offers many options and the Remote has many useful functionsWhat could make it even better:1-- Scanning is not fast, takes 10-15 min.2-- HDMI out signal is not stable even with Ant Power 'On'3-- You can set the Menu to be transparent (to show the TV pic behind) but the transparency setting is not saved and the menu goes back to no-transparency when you change Tabs. No big deal, maybe a Version upgrade will fix that.

If you're suffering from a TV with one of today's typical tuners that just doesn't have the sensitivity to pull in and hold a weak signal, I would highly recommend this unit. It's easy to hook up and program, and even comes with a record function. It does a great job of pulling in OTA TV channels, eliminating the frequent drop-outs associated with more distant transmitters. The only problem I've seen is that the video brightness is a little low and is not adjustable, although the picture quality is great using HDMI. Most TVs have a manual adjustment that will enable you to compensate for low brightness.

This product replaced a converter box that was 10 years old. We were able to get many more channels with this new box. It was relatively easy to install and much smaller than our old box.

Used this for my dedicated home theatre that has a projector and after getting rid of satellite tv. It works great and I use it for my local TV channel I get with my antenna. Easy set up and just took 5-10 minutes to scan the channels

The positive is that it works as a basic converter. The issues are 1) it's slow to boot up, 2) the battery cover of the remote control keeps falling off - shouldn't happen when it's brand new, and 3) most importantly, it doesn't appear to transmit a true digital audio signal. I have a brand new HD antenna and an hdmi cord connecting this box to my brand new Yamaha receiver (I'm using a projector for video) and the receiver tells me the audio signal coming in is "PCM" or analog - not digital. So it only sends stereo audio through my system. Not what you want when you have a full home theater system with HD proejctor and surround sound.

This is a very compact unit and so far it has worked good. The picture quality is better than the older unit it's replacing. However the deduction of one star is due mostly to the remote and the heat emitted from the unit.1. HEAT: The unit gets very hot, perhaps because it's so small and there doesn't seem to be a fan. This is a concern because heat sometimes equals failure due to parts overheating, so the longevity of the unit is a question that remains to be seen.2. REMOTE: The remote is very lightweight and the buttons don't respond well. That being said, it does work but it just feels cheap. I would've been happy to have spent five dollars more and get a better remote.CONCLUSION: After several weeks of use, the unit is functioning fine and the picture quality it outputs is good. I hope it last longer than just a few months due to the heat it creates. The remote feels cheap, although it works.

These are horrible have got 2 and they both don't work even order an hdtv antenna with signal booster and still picks up no channels and stays in boot mode

Two defective boxes sent. Both stayed in "boot" mode, even after restarting and giving it time to boot (12 hours is enough time, right?) Since the reviews were leaning toward it being a working box, I went ahead and had a replacement sent. Nope. Now I'm just taking the refund and going to Best Buy for a brand name one.
