I agree with other reviewers about the smell of the bed when it comes out of the package. I knew it ahead of time and allowed time to let it air out before I actually had to use it (and it definitely needed it). I wouldn't recommend using it for seating as is shown in the pictures. I just bought one of those cushions you can get for your bed and lean it against the wall and have been comfortable with that. I'm used to living with a sparsely furnished apartment though. That being said, this would be perfect to use for overnight guests and the like. I slept on an air mattress one night at a relatives house and I thought my back was going to kill me the next day. Never again!!!I laid on it for a few minutes prior to using it for a real night's sleep and decided it was a little firm for my taste so I did put a 1.5" foam pad on it before I put the sheet on. I got a twin size pad but I think full would have worked as well. I also got a Nicamaka Ready Net to use with it because I am paranoid about sleeping so close to the ground. Better safe than sorry! Just woke up and I slept sooooo good I literally woke up in the exact same position I went to sleep in. That never happens to me!!I live a very nomadic lifestyle due to my job and this is PERFECT for my needs. Folded up (and secured with bunjee cords since there are no handles or anything to keep it from unfolding when you carry it) it fit nicely in the back seat of my car (an Altima) along with a laundry basket. You can tilt the bottom toward the front seats and it doesn't interfere with your vision. My trip yesterday was only four hours but I still had no problems with it. I no longer worry about having to find a bed or couch to sleep on when I move, which is about every three months or so. I am so happy with this bed!!!

I couldn't wait to recieve this item. I crochet constantly and recently began to notice that my hands will begin to cramp up when I'm using the 5.5 mm hooks and smaller. I purchased a ergonomic hook that was bamboo and I liked the feel. I then went on to find a hook that had the rubber ergonomic handle. I liked the feel of it more. It's not as hard as the bamboo and the handle is bigger. Finally, I decided to purchase a set/ kit. I came across this kit. Initially I was a bit apprehensive as a result of it not being a well known brand. However, I liked the fact that the kit came with so many little extras. That is a serious plus. I especially love the little scissors. They fit perfectly inside the little bag so that they can not get lost. I lose scissors all the time no matter the size. I love the fact that I can carry these with the hooks. The hooks have a great feel to the. No matter how small the hook size the handle is still pretty thick thus eliminating the cramping. The only concern with the hooks I have is the fact that I don't think the hooks are long enough. Other than that I really like the product.

Just to be clear, I'm a guy, with big hands, and I purchased this set because I love to crochet, however, I found the metal hooks you can purchase at your local crafts store and Walmart were hard to use and made my hand cramp up after a short time, I purchased this set several weeks ago and I really like the set, colors not so much..lolThe Pro's:~Comfortable, easy to use, and well made.~The Case. The case fits everything perfectly, it's well made and the only somewhat masculine part of this set. LOL~Other tools, the other tools are overall excellent, with exception of the stitch counter, but, I'll discuss that in the Con's section.The Con's:~The Stitch counter, it's honestly very cheaply made, although it works, one good drop and it's done for.~Hook size selection. The hooks are good, however, there needs to be a better selection of sizes.Overall I love this set and highly recommend it. For the price it's a no-brainer. Give it a try.

Great set! The crochet handles are so much easier to hold than the "naked" needle - I'm learning to crochet and once I've got a project started I almost can't put the hook down until I get so tired my eyes start crossing. I've used the plastic markers for keeping my end stitch marked and in place when I have to stop, and the plastic needles are great for weaving in the ends as I'm finishing up a project.The little scissors work great too. I haven't started a project that would require the stitch counter so can't speak to that, but love having this little set ready to roll in it's little bag. Only drawback is that the hook sizes are metric instead of USA sizes (example, hook size H), but finding and printing a conversion chart online was super simple. The bag is a nice quality - I was pleasantly surprised by that since other sets I've looked at came in much more thin/cheap pouches.

This is a solid kit for a novice crocheter or for someone with experience. The crochet needles were my main draw and are the highest quality item in the group, and though the other items feel a bit on the cheaper side if you take care of them well I think it will serve anyone well working on their projects. It's also just really handy if, like me, you get to/to finishing your crochet projects when everything has its own place when you're done :) Will look forward to continuing to use this product for many projects to come.

I bought the shikibuton because as someone in a transitional life period I didn't want to buy a bunch of bulky furniture. I was looking for something that could act as a comfortable long-term bed and wouldn't take up a crazy amount of space when I move to my next home. Because it needed to be long-term I did go for the thicker 6 inch foam, for additional comfort I topped it with a 3 inch Tempurpedic mattress topper. It's been working out really well and when the bed is made it looks quite handsome.I read the reviews and was apprehensive of the smell that so many have written about. I didn't get knocked backward by any such aroma, it smelled like it had just come out of plastic packaging, nothing more. I left it partially unfolded on it's side for a few hours in a crossbreeze but slept on it that night with no objections from my olfactory glands.
