Wild Rose [DVD]

I’m not a country music fan nor am I a fan of movies about people who struggle to overcome past stupid life choices. I loved this movie anyway. Jessie Buckley has so much talent it will be fascinating to see what she chooses to do with it. It was a joy to hear her sing these country songs but my hope is that although she has now proven herself a fine serious actress, she circles back to my love, musical theater. Perhaps ALW is working on something for her.

very entertaining movie. a little cliched around the story, but Jessie's singing makes up for all of it.

what an amazing film about facing life's journey head-on, with three chords and the truth. This film opened my heart to country music, it's universal appeal ( Ole Oprey in Glascow!). Lead actress is a single mother of two who had to grow up too early, yet is still in the game of learning who she is and living it out loud and proud. Her energy and vitality through shone through in all the songs, even with a Scottish accent. I'd watch again and again.

I watched this movie via prime snd also ordered it for a friend. If you’re a music lover, and love Musician stories them you will love this movie! As a single mom who is a self employed artist I really related to the main character.

"Wild Rose" could almost be a musical. Lots of great classic country music and a female lead with an incredible voice. The movie also has something to say about redemption. All of us are flawed, that doesn't make us unforgivable, or any less talented. Yes, the actors have a brogue. The acting is strong enough so even if you only pick up a few words, you should be able to get the context of what's happening, and there's always subtitles. If accents don't make you angry, check it out!

The biggest problem this film has is also the one that should probably have prevented it from being made in the first place. The narrative - that an immature young woman dreams of success but settles for home and family - is one that leaves the viewer with, "Yeah, so what?" Making a film about the necessary compromises of maturity is simply not arresting enough to justify the efforts to make it and the time the viewer devotes to watching it.

Creating compelling tension in a movie is a hard trick, and this one completely sticks the landing. Rose is a fantastic example of a lead character who is very flawed and yet extremely likable.You know her dark side and yet you’re rooting for her from the start, probably because she embodies the dreamer in all of us.This is one charming movie, and Jessie Buckley SHINES.

If you are from the US this is a good movie. It does have subtitles.Jessie Buckley as Rose-Lynn Harlan is amazing.

De nombreux bugs rendre le film irregardable je vais tenter une rénovation si elle reste sans résultat je demanderai un échange si possible sinon un retour et j'en commenderai un de nouveau

Belle histoire et un bel écrin pour Glasgow, une ville que j'adore. Jessie Buckley est parfaite.
