Fill it with sand, not water
This is a good, solid parasol base. The seller says it can be filled with water. This I did, only to notice that after a few hours there was a damp patch underneath the base. This persisted and it lost about four litres in 24 hours. I emptied the water out, and much as I try, I can’t see any sign of a leak. There are no seams to speak of, no splits or cuts, but I still get the water leakage. It doesnt seem logical that plastic is porous, but That is the only conclusion I can come to. In fact, when you look at the underneath of the base, there is a little moulded instruction saying that it should be filled with sand. The seller would appear not to be aware of this, and the description needs to be altered. Water is obviously be the best option if the location needs to be moved, as you can empty it out in a few seconds instead of trying to shift a heavy boxful of sand. I now have to go and buy some sand.

Not up to the job
Filled with water as per instructions and tried to insert the parasol, but very difficult - pole seemed too big for centre pillar even though it was within spec. Eventually managed it but within a hour or two a guest of wind blew the whole thing over. On recovering it we discovered it had been leaking water - it may have been the fall, but there was a tear in the plastic at the base of the centre pillar. Don't buy this product, perhaps spend a bit more on a more substantial base.

Not fit for purpose and unhelpful seller, look elsewhere
Arrived either broken or not fit for purpose as all I did was screw the plastic pole holder into the plastic base and it never felt solid and leaked water immediately. The base is made in two sections and is only 1mm thick where the pole holder screws in so this would never last. Also as someone else said, it doesn’t hold onto the parasol so any wind will lift the parasol out. Given your parasol is likely more expensive than this base (especially if you have to replace it every time it crash lands), look elsewhere. Also when I requested a return (within 10 minutes of unpackaging) the seller is refusing wanting explanations, then wanting photos and taking nearly 2 weeks and counting to resolve. If this is ever resolved I will update this review.

This simply does not work as advertised, ie, filled with water. As another reviewer observed, the water somehow seeps away, and the parasol then falls over. On the underside is an impressed statement saying it should be filled with sand, and not used free-standing (ie other than through a table), so this is being mis-sold on two accounts.

Base not stiff enough.
It's reasonably heavy when full of water, easy to assemble, and lightweight and easy to handle when empty.I was not expecting much for the price, but it disappointed me as it lacks stiffness at the base. The brolly is held up and reasonably stable in wind, due to the weight. It just wobbles about and won't sit vertically even when there is no breeze.

Still a good buy
Very solid when filled with water although it does say fill with sand. However, I am having a problem stopping the parasol from spinning around even in a light breeze, I cannot tighten the pole into the base enough even though it is a close fit and this is a nuisance, may try wrapping a cloth around or even putting a screw through.

A base you can rely on
Liked this product, when it's filled with water just insert parasol and it stands on it's own,no problems.
