More Work Thank It's Worth
I recently picked up this tool at the urging of a relative, simply to test it out. I had wanted a spiralizer for awhile though, so I figured if it worked well, it would be worth it. Unfortunately, this spiral slicer is more work than it's worth. I tested it out on a carrot and found that it was very difficult to hold onto the carrot and twist it effectively, resulting in short pieces of carrot that I could have (more easily) obtained with my grater or juilienne peeler. Once I got the carrot down enough to use the cap/handle piece, I had trouble getting the pressure just right and ended up shredding the opposite end of the carrot a bit before getting it right. I did, eventually, get some nice, long spiral carrot shreds from it, but by then I had very little, usable carrot left. When I was finished, I still had a good 1"- 1 1/2" of carrot left too. Overall, I felt this was more work than it was worth - at least it wasn't expensive. It did clean up really well and I appreciate that it comes with a brush for cleaning.

Entices kids to eat their veggies.
If you have kids who don't care for veggies, this may be the perfect thing for you. My friend's children (age 5 and 6) often spend the afternoon with me. I had just received my spiral slicer and told them that I wanted to try something 'crazy.' They pulled stools up to watch me make zucchini noodles and were thrilled. (Of course, you have to make sure they don't try to use it. Those blades are sharp.) I sauteed the noodles lightly and topped with a meat sauce and they ate every bit. We have made a carrot salad and also a cucumber salad. They like both but ask for 'zoodles' most often. Their mother is amazed because they have refused to touch cucumbers in the past and just can't believe how they eat the zucchini noodles. This product is easy to use and the brush helps greatly in cleaning it. The one thing that can't be emphasized enough is to get the water out of the veggies after making the spirals. Taking the extra time to drain and lightly pat dry makes all the difference in your finished product.

It works, but it's faulty and not worth the trouble.
The first time I used it, I was excited by the idea of eating my vegetables in a new way, however after that, the excitement wore off. It only works up to a point. The worst feature is the small cap-shaped handle they give you to grip the vegetable. It does not work on any of the veggies I've tried it on, which include yams, sweet potatoes, zucchinis, potatoes, and carrots. I tried to go rogue and use my fingers to grip them, but I just ended up cutting myself. Heed my warning, those blades are sharp. I plan on buying a better spiralizer that grips without difficulty. If I would have done that in the first place, I wouldn't be spending extra in the long run the way I am.

LOVE THIS - Keto People, Low Carb People, Must Have
Seriously fantastic! I've only made zucchini spaghetti thus far, but WOW! I am on a keto food plan right now and can't have high carbs. Trying to get my body used to fueling with fat. This has helped ease some of my cravings. I do love pasta, coming from an Italian family, it has been a staple. This makes me feel like I am eating pasta. I can't have typical sauce, unless I make it without sugar, so I sauté the veggie noodles in olive oil, add fresh basil and tomatoes, garlic, salt and pepper, sprinkle a bit or parm cheese and cut a small slice of fresh moth to top it. It is not only delicious, but beautiful.

I think it is a lot of fun, and it offers you one more way to ...
I just got it a few days ago, but I have already used it several times. I think it is a lot of fun, and it offers you one more way to eat raw. Not everything has to be chopped, grated or sliced. This gives you the chance to make any dish prettier at the same time that you are having a healthier option. It is easy to clean and wash. I love the two books that they give you as a bonus. I am going to buy more for some of my friends.

Great for the money but not perfect..yet...
Loved the sharp blades and finger guards on the sides. I do hate the black cap you place over yoyr veggie and turn with. To me the grips are to short and thick I think if they were more spikes like a corn on the cob gripper the cap could actually turn the veggie in the slicer. I put it to side and just used my hand to turn the veggie till it got too short.

I love my veggies prepared this way
My 5 star item of one year just went to ONE star!! Yes it can be difficult to use, but I figured out a safe way to use it and clean it. I have used this nearly every day for one year. I love my veggies prepared this way, it has helped me stay away from carbs and lose weight! I use it mainly for carrots and cucumbers. While washing up, I JUST discovered TWO missing teeth from the larger end!! I am in shock and very worried about where the teeth ended up! My young kids eat the veggies I prepare with this too!It is now in the trash and I will be looking for a safer option.

Great way to prepare veggies
Extremely happy with this spiral slicer. Used it so far with squash, zucchini, and cucumbers. Spirals come out with ease. Love the two sizes. Clean up is simple with hot water and the provided brush. Super sharp cutting edges, so you must be careful and use the lid to push the last bit of veggie in. Would make a perfect gift for new cooks.

Good little zoodler
Works pretty well but doesn't accommodate large zucchinis! Use a firm medium zucchini for best results.
