Stinger SSCB300 300A Circuit Breaker

I bought this breaker becasue I needed 300 amps. I knew I'd take it apart because it is fairly common that E9 style breakers can be good or very poor. The Stinger breakers are very poor.1. No copper buss on the back of the bimetal element.2. Crumbles to bits in your hand!3. Small contacts...more like 150-200 amp contacts.4. Not water proof.If you are looking for an excellent breaker, stick to Optifuse products and avoid Stinger. Optifuse underratres all their products. The contacts are over sized and they have a large copper buss on the bimetal element. Even the Chinese E9 breakers are better than Stinger!The picture order is a bit scrambled up.1. The first picture is the Stinger bimetal element. Notice the total lack of a copper buss on it. This part with current flow warms up and changes shape. Further warming and it pops apart the contacts. A good breaker depends on copper for the majority of the current path and a lighter duty bimetal element.2. The second picture is the Optifuse 200A breaker contacts. It is probably hard to tell, but despite this breaker being rated for 200 amps, the contacts are about 10-15% larger than the ones in the Stinger 300 amp breaker.3. The third picture is the contacts inside the Stinger breaker. They are quite small for 300 amps and won't last very long as a result.4. The 4th and 5th pictures are how the Stinger breaker fell apart as I took out the rivets. Nothing was forced apart. It disintegrated on it's own!!!5. In the final picture the Optifuse large copper element on the back of the bimetel element is easy to see. It is a far superior breaker to the Chinese ones or the far worse Stinger breaker. As you can see, the optifuse breaker did not fall apart when I took it apart.You can find 200 amp Optifuse breakers on Amazon, but not the 300 amp version. For that, go to Digikey. After seeing what a TURD the Stinger breaker is, I bought 2 Optifuse 300 amp breakers and returned the one remaining Stinger!

This product is crap....used it in my car music system, ONLY WORKED TWICE in cutting power supply between primary and secondary batteries.
