Looks good so far...
I'm wondering why folks had problems with it not clipping. I have a heavy duty cane - 700lbs test! - and mine is grasped firmly by this clip - plus I notice you could bend the springy metal to easily make it fit smaller shafts, so I'm confused about the complaints. This looks like the best solution I've yet seen, and I've been looking for years. I plan to take it apart though - I want to use just one side of it, because I don't need the other. I will attach it to the back of my power chair so I can bring a cane with me everywhere I go. My trolley bar already holds the legs of the quad cane very nicely, so all I need is the clip to keep it from tipping over while I'm moving. So far, I've had to thread it under a hook bungee cord before, and I had to stand up to retrieve it in a very difficult operation - and usually had to have help. With this snap-on holder, I can simply reach behind my right shoulder and grab the cane, to release it and voila, I'm mobile again! This gives me more freedom to go places where my chair can't tread. It is a real improvement on my life!!-------------------------------------Feb 27,2014 - Modification went without a hitch! Worked just as planned! I'm surprised I can bash around down the road and not throw my cane into the ditch! I'm very happy with these results!! I'm only using one side for a clasp, and this thing is wonderful! I'm already enjoying going down town, and getting out of the chair if I have to do go through inaccessible places. I may have so much fun, I better watch out, and not hurt my hip sockets! I'll be doing much more walking now!! Just can't say enough about the joy of this invention!!

Finally--this one worked!
I use an invacare power wheelchair and have an aluminum cane that I use as a reach stick. I was looking for a way to carry the cane that would still keep it easy to reach and remove for use.I had tried several similar figure 8 models, but all of them were either too small, not sturdy enough, or too difficult for me to use. This one holds the cane perfectly even when I'm driving down an uneven sidewalk, but I can still remove the cane by myself. Both rings are metal, and it seems sturdy.Judging by the more negative reviews for this one, I'm guessing there are two fairly standard sizes, say Medium and Large. The other models I tried must have been Mediums, designed more for a thin tube walker holding an even thinner reach stick. Those didn't work for my purpose. But since I have a power chair and I want to clip on a standard cane, this one worked for me.The part of the wheelchair I attached this to has a circumference of 3 1/4 inches and the cane has a circumference of 3 inches. I can see where it might slip on a tube of smaller size. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that it's still a bit awkward to get the cane out of the holder. But it's definitely meeting my needs as is.

I thought it was good
This was SUPER convenient, basically it's just a double sided clip. It was easily removable for those times you want to take it off. It does not turn in the middle bc that would be too convenient and we can't have too much convenience (note the sarcasm). That being said I think it would make it weaker if it spun. It wasn't super chinsey, it felt sturdy enough to me, it held my cane fine (mine is just an average cane I bought from Walmart). I ended up returning it just bc I found something I already had that worked but otherwise I'd have totally kept it. It has little rollers on the clip ends too that make getting things in and out easier. Mine came in white too instead of the gray in the picture which I personally liked bc it made it look not so medical-devicey. If it's a bit loose I recommend either putting some tape on the pole that's getting clipped or some rubber hose to make it thinker.

Best holder - look no farther
I have a rolling walker with a seat. I use it except for short distances like going into a bathroom. I have to keep a cane with me and without a holder it finds it's way to the floor all too often. Picking it back up is a hassle as bending my knees is not an option. This holder is heavy duty metal with hard rubber rollers to make it easy to put the cane in place. My cane is adjustable so the bottom part diameter is too small. The holder only clamps to the top part. I position the handle of my cane on top of the handles of my walker and push the cane into the holder. It holds it firmly and keeps it in place - you will love it. Only one thing to keep in mind - The two sides of the holder do not swivel, they are fixed in place. This limits positioning of the cane to in-line with the front legs (left or right). Buy it - you'll like it

It works with some modifications
I can use this cane holder with my wheelchair now, but it required modification. I cut back the center rubber pad to make the side I attach to my wheelchair hold onto the rail. The diameter of the upright post for the backrest on my chair was larger than what the Ableware Cane Holder could accommodate. I used an exacto knife to pare down the black rubber bumper. This allowed the holder to stay attached to my chair. However, my cane was falling off the other side. I fixed this by unscrewing the halves of the holder and attaching a velcro strap to the inside. The strap loops around the cane holding it securely now. Without these modifications, the holder did not work for me.

unable to use for the purpose stated
I tried to use this to carry my grabber stick and later my cane. Both items would not stay in the holder. They would slip down and pop out of the holder.

It comes off with the cane.
I do not like this product. The rollers on both sides was not thought through. When I grab my Cane the whole piece comes off. Its aggravating. Maybe if the side that attached to the walker didn't have the roller it would work better. Ultimately I bought another brand Cane holder that I am happy with. NOT A GOOD BUY!

It worked fine with a small adaptation
Even though we didn't install it as it was intended, because the hold was loose and the canes interfered with the wheels, we solved it installing the holder in the inferior part of the chair and we held the canes at the top with straps from another holder. It works just fine this way.

Useless
Made from very flimsy cheap metal. The plastic grips are too small to fit a standard forearm crutch and the holder doesn't swivel between the two parts which means if you have a horizontal bar to attach your stick to (as many wheelchairs do) the stick will poke out sideways. Total waste of money. Cannot recommend this product
