Lone Star Field Guide to Wildflowers, Trees, and Shrubs of Texas (Lone Star Field Guides)

This is a good source for detailed information about many of the shrubs, trees and flowers of Texas. I recently moved here and want to identify what is growing on our property. My only criticism is that the pictures could be bigger, allowing you to see the plants in greater detail.

The book was informative , but incomplete. It focused entirely on plants that are NATIVE to Texas,not the many plants that have introduced to the area.

Gave this to my Aunt and she loves it. She has been able to identify some of the plants in her pasture.

What good is a book about identifying trees and shrubs and wildflowers without pictures. I wish I had listened to the reviewer who said the online version had poor quality pictures. It DOES have pictues, but they are small and not easily used to distinguish features. Some are too dark to tell details, others are just small - they are about 1.5 x 2" Not what I was expecting at all.Worst part is I waited too long to open the package and I can't return it.

This book has some great pictures and is perfectly descriptive. If you are looking for a good plant material ID book for Texas, look no further. Buy this if you have read this far, you won't be disappointed.

I really have enjoyed this book & think some of my Grandkids will too. We can more tell what trees, wildflowers & shrubs we are looking at.

I don't know about the print version, but in the digital version the pictures are not only too small, they are way too dark for the most part. If only a few had been unrecognizably dark, I might have been able to live with the small photos. Unfortunately the majority of the ones I looked at were dark. I'll be sorrowfully returning this e-book.
