Fun and practical esk8
I came up with the idea of riding an electric skateboard when my bike got stolen from a gated community with CCTV, D-locked and chained to a post. I figured an eboard with such range can easily take me to and from work daily and accommodate for my regular commutes into central London. Plus, it's easy to carry around once you get used to it (worth investing in a backpack, as it does mean the board gets out of sight for a while).I have been riding for two weeks now and I am super happy with the board, it feels and rides incredibly, carves smoothly and breaks sharply at high speeds, which is ideal for either leisure skating or commuting at high speeds - weighting 75kg, I ride comfortably at 21-22mph through most of my journey, but I have proved myself that I can squeeze more out of it (check the video). The remote control handles well, very responsive and pairs with the board instantly; I didn't get to try the previous version, but this one does a very good job at controlling the acceleration and braking speed. It has three modes that limit it to intermediate max speeds, so beginners can get used to its full capabilities gradually.I have skateboarded in the past, however, it pays off to remember the good practice on a longboard, weight distribution, feet position, and body weight shifting, to prevent jumping off, speed wobbles etc. With basics in check, the board gives an amazing riding experience.Slick Revolution are local in the South East (Southampton), meaning servicing and other customer relations are handled promptly and hassle-free. Robert (the founder) is friendly and reliable and that's always a nice bonus. All in all, highly recommended, looking forward to trying other models from the new 2019 range, as well as riding this one for many miles to come.
