I used it to run a cable down the wall from my office down into the basement below it. The shaft was less flexible than I expected based on a video I watched. It didn't seem likely that I could flex it enough to guide the bit in the opening with one hand and run the drill with the other. I skimped and didn't buy the placement tool. I probably should have.Skipping the placement tool caused me a bit of extra work in the end since I couldn't guide the bit straight down like I wanted. The angle I had to drill without the placement tool caused it to go down the backside of a 2x12 in the basement. So I had to drill a horizontal hole through the 2x12 in the basement and fish the cable through that.

This saved my day to drill a hole to the basement to pull a cat6 cable!! There is a tiny hole at the tip of the augur, which helps to draw the cable when the augur is pulled back. Read the reviews of other cheaper bits and didn’t want to risk wasting time or having a broken bit in the wood

Did it's job. I need a foot extension and was able to achieve my need with a Vermont American 17104 12-Inch Standard Drill Bit Extension that work out very nicely. Watch a YouTube video on how to sharpen these types of drill bits, and this should last a good amount of time.

Great bit, but because of the length the shaft is much thicker and stronger, therefore making it much more difficult to bend.

Works great. Just need to know how to use it properly. I find that having a strong drill makes all the difference. I used my electric drill for this not my battery powered drivers.

If you need to run wires/cables in your existing wall that’s fire blocked..... works great!

What I love about this bit is you can fish wires with it as I did.
