I originally bought this so I'd have something to replace my non-locking case that came with my Glock G22 chambered in .40 S&W. I wasn't convinced at first, but now I'm a believer. It fits just perfectly my G22 loaded, with an extra mag and my Streamlight TLR-1s tactical light (but not when it's attached) OR I can fit my G22 loaded with the tactical light attached but no extra mag. I love it because of it's simplicity. I can easily move it from my car to my house just by detaching the included cable, leaving the cable behind in the truck and taking the vault with me. I also keep a Canadian and US $ under the lining, and could fit a few slim documents folded up if I had to. A passport with the gun is a bit tight unless you start taking stuff out though. Of course it's no replacement for a safe, it CAN be pried open, though you'd need the tools and the time to do it. It's a trade off for portability, concealment, and ease of access. The combo lock is easy to set to your own combination, and can be quickly unlocked to get to what you need quickly. All in all I am very pleased with this product. In fact, I bought two more as gifts for my fellow gun enthusiasts. My buddy couldn't fit his full frame Sig pistol in there, but all his other pistols fit. GREAT lockbox option for small to mid size pistols.

A must own, read full review.ok, so I had one with a key lock that would have offered more pickproof security, but that is not needed. The 3 digit combination is nice for quick access, no key to keep track of amd essentially it's only a deterrent.I can imagine, the unit can be stolen from a car if the thief wants to use simple wire cutters and take the box home to pry it open with a hammer or just smash the hell of it on the ground. I can also imagine needing to get the gun and looking for the key under duress. What can go wrong will.I use it to hold emergency items (compact pistol, 2 magazines, spare drivers license, crefit card, cash and a pen style flashlight) yes, there is still a little more room left. I felt that if I lose or forget my wallet, enter into a bad scenario I should be fairly prepared. As far as security, I just want to prevent the guy at the car wash, valet, person walking by looking for easy things to steal as a deterrent. It is padded, is TSA approved, had a loop cable to secure from someone running off with the goods, and 2 holes that are probably for mounting to a steel surface for more security. It has a black texture coating that does well against scratches.I ordered an abother one for both cars, in case something needs secure but I can not lock the car (car wash or valet).Something also considers is the scenario where you carry and make an unplanned detour at a governmental building or bar where you can not carry, then concerned because you have a loaded gun unsecured in the car protected by glass and a trunk latch. You get the point.It may also help if you are searched during being pulled over, it's locked so some may say a warrant would be needed-not an attorney.....

I purchased the NV300 with the combination, I read all the bad reviews on all the vaults/safes ranging from $20 to $300... 1) The foam did not gas me out and run everybody out of the room, it did have a normal faint foam smell. 2)Yes its small but, a 5" 1911 with a clip and 2 extra mag's fits TIGHT,(NV200 & 300) 3)Yes the casing around the combination is plastic 4)Yes the knob/lock mechanism is plastic but the latch is metal. 5)Yes this is a sturdy metal box and the hinge is sturdy enough 6)Yes the cable is 1/8" aircraft cable with a plastic coating. 7)Yes it is going to take more than 1 millimillionth to get it open.It is what it is, ITS NOT FORT KNOX for 20 to 30 bucks.... What It Will Do Is... 1)Provide some sort of a locked deterrent VS your unlocked goods under your pillow or in your night stand 2)Keep small hands out 3)Keep an honest thief honest 4)Make your hormonal teenager think twice about breaking it and getting into your stuff.I bought the combo because I didn't want the key found...My only reservation is seeing in the dark.... but one thing is sure... I don't have to worry if the buttons or scanning is going to work... or ...is the door going to pop open.

I bought two of these. One works perfectly, but the other is defective and I've sent it back. I would've given the product four stars if not for the defective one, but I do get a feeling that these have an inconsistent build quality, and three stars is the max for that kind of situation.It's a good and useful lock-box. It's large enough to hold a compact or subcompact handgun (for instance, a Glock 26 or 19, but not a 17), plus a spare clip. It could also be used to store some cash, a passport, etc. Yet it is compact enough to toss in a small drawer or store under a car seat. In addition, it comes with a cable to secure it to anything you can wrap a cable around, such as a car seat mechanism. It is not a "high security" safe; honestly, anyone with a screwdriver or a hammer could probably get inside this thing in a couple of minutes. But it will generally keep out prying eyes, and would be enough of a pain in the ass to open such that some punk stealing loose change and CDs out of cars at a mall probably wouldn't bother with it. Understand, though, that any determined thief would be able to make short shrift of it.The combination lock is not the easiest thing to use, which makes it useless as a quick-access gun safe. If you think you might need immediate access to a firearm, this is not the safe for you. This one is more about very basic security of a weapon for transport purposes, or perhaps for short-term bedroom storage. In the home, it absolutely does not replace a real gun safe. If it sounds like I'm being negative about the safe, actually, I'm not. It just depends on what the application is. For temporary securing of a firearm in the car when going into a location where concealed carry is not permitted: great. For keeping a gun secured from curious kids: dangerous, and there are better options. So it all depends. It certainly seems like a lot of product for the extremely low cost.

meets requirements for handgun. But realistically could probably be broken into with a flat screwdriver. Better then what i expected for the price

Just the right size for a glock 19 with spare mag. Tough construction. Great for secure transport to the range.

Excellent build quality! For gun firearm storage, it compiles with the criminal code of Canada in that it does not appear to be easily defeated with household tools. I would purchase again.
