Color:Series #4  |  Size:8x10 This collection contains ten 8"x10" inch unframed art prints of famous Chinese painter Shi Tao's paintings shown on the first product image. Shi Tao (1642-1707), a painter in early Qing Dynasty, original went by the surname Zhu, is a descendant of royal family of Ming Dynasty. Later, Zhu cut his hair and changed his name to Shi Tao. Shi is one of the most significant artists in the history of Chinese painting: In addition to exploring innovative painting techniques, he also examined and sorted out art theories. Many famous next-generation painters imitate Shi’s style. Shi specilzied in natural landscapes while understanding the natural beauty of the scenery. Shi always strives for innovation in his paintings, whether they are landscapes, figures, or flowers. His compositions are rich, unprecedented, and unpredictable, which deviates from the imitation of ancient style at that time. Ten Flowers Painting This work was sold in a Christie's Spring Auction for RMB 15.74 million in Hong Kong in 2008. It is currently a personal collection. Shi Tao is famous for landscape paintings, but he also excels at flowers, birds, figures, and beasts. Shi’s works demonstrate the exquisiteness of his technique; His flowers and landscapes paintings are far more refreshing and elegant than other contemporary painters at that time. 石濤(1642年-1707年),清初畫家。原姓朱,為皇室之後,後削髮為僧,改名石濤。石濤在中國繪畫上佔有十分重要的地位,除探索創新繪畫技法外,又能探討、整理藝術理論。其畫風為後世許多名家所效仿。石濤擅長畫山水,能深刻體驗自然景物之理。所畫不論山水、人物、花卉都務求創新,構圖富含變化,又有獨特新奇之意境,不同於當時一味仿古之畫風。 花卉冊十幀 本作品在2008年香港的佳士得春季拍賣中,以1,574萬元人民幣之高價成交,目前為個人收藏。石濤以山水畫聞名,但對於花鳥、人物、走獸也別有一番造詣,其中花卉與山水相比較為清新雅麗,更較當代畫家來的富有新意、展現其畫工的精湛深厚。
