EZ Straw Lawn Repair Mix - Sun/Shade Blend - Combination Seed, Mulch, Fertilizer (11 lb. Covers 200 sq. ft.)

I have used this in the past with excellent results. I live on a lake and the geese were eating my grass seed and then what new grass would emerge. This mixture kept the seed protected with the straw until the grass sprouted and lawn established. I have a yard with a sun and shade mix. The straw broke down and was gone leaving a beautiful green blanket. I love it.

It grows well and it will fill in bald spots, but be prepared for it to contain quite a bit of weeds with it

I’m yard was a ‘dog yard’; meaning too much pee, poo and scuffing has happened in my shady yard. It was gross dirt with some weeds. I didn’t want to re-sod because cost and afraid it would just get ruined. I decided to give this a try.The product works exactly as advertised. Within a few weeks the shadiest, nasty part of my yard was full of grass! I applied 2/3 the bag initially and then hit the spots where grass didn’t fully take a few weeks later.I just purchased another bag to do the rest of my yard. I could only block off part at a time because of the dogs.Be certain to water each day. I did it by hand so that I wouldn’t forget and over-saturate.I couldn’t be happier!

I normally don’t write reviews and I know others are mixed on this product. We live in Missouri on a hillside. Very rocky with limited soil and less than 2 hrs of sunlight on that side of the house. I did a test patch just to see if it worked before I put in more work to plant the rest. I was extremely skeptical and for awhile I thought it wasn’t going to work. At about the 12 day mark, I started noticing sprouts coming up through the straw. Coverage is fairly thick and I’m extremely pleased right now considering our soil quality and the amount of sunlight per day this area receives. I did mix this product a bit after opening the bag to make sure any grass seed that may have settled was brought up. I highly recommend this product and have ordered one for my father and another for myself.

This seeded straw is absolutely great in filling in completely bare areas within your lawn. Just be sure to lay some top soil first before applying this seeded straw and you will achieve amazing results with your lawn. See attached photo....

works as advertised. I patched up a large area near my backdoor and sure enough grass is now growing rather quickly, just keep it watered. I had a bit left over so I tried to patch another area with a thinner application, sort of working but definitely works much better when applying a nice layer. I've got a 2nd 28lb bag arriving friday to finish off the 2nd area and a couple other trouble spots. Worth mentioning, last year I wasted time and money on several bags of Pennington smart seed mix. EZ Straw is working 10x's better, so much so it motivated me to write this review and I barely ever write reviews.

This product is easy to use if you follow the instructions and also plug holes before you lay it down and follow the watering instructions.

Grass did grow in sections where the product was applied. After 3 weeks im still seein grass growing in..so im guessing my patches will fill in more. I still have patches but compared.to what I started with, I did get lots of beautiful healthy looking green grass. I would definitely use this product again. I plan on buying more to go over some of the missed patches
