Cleanicator 100 Dishwasher Indicator

Really, I don't "love it", but it's deserving of a five star. My wife and I have a stainless dishwasher that she washes the dishes with after she washes the dishes to put in to the dishwasher. (I stopped trying to explain it to her years ago). Anyhow, I don't know if they have been clean cleaned, or simply cleaned so I bought this gadget to her to tell me if it's safe to get a coffee mug out of the dishwasher. It has an adhesive back, matches the stainless better than any of the other ones, and while I see lots of folks beating it up because it doesn't handle a commercial appliance, I think the little thing was made for folks like me, who just need a simple tool to get a clean coffee mug out of the dishwasher without having to ask my wife.

I can't believe the small selection of products that exist for this purpose. This one gets the job done but could definitely be better... if I were designing it I would forgo the color, because it's ambiguous (why should clean be green, when usually green is being interpreted as STOP, don't put dishes in here)... not to mention many kitchens have a color theme that doesn't include bright green or bright red. The other issue is that it's pretty cheap-feeling. I'm not sure how long the adhesive will last, but I have it stuck on the dishwasher essentially on top of the horizontal handle, so it has extra support. I'd prefer magnetic so I wouldn't have to worry about the adhesive... but.. as I said, this is okay, it gets the job done.

Awesome product, but the adhesive on the back is fairly underwhelming. Since dishwashers get rather hot and do produce steam/ humidity, as well as getting opened, closed, and walked by, they are prone to falling off. Some good double stick tape (I used carpet tape) resolved its only problem. Otherwise, its simple and effective

I ordered this item for the dishwasher at our office. It works great in terms of letter people know the status of the dishwasher. My problem with it, however, is that the adhesive is second-rate. It's a foam adhesive square that would likely leave a permanat mark on your dishwasher. A magnet would work better than the adhesive, I think, for some dishwashers. In my case, our dishwasher is a type of stainless that does't hold the magnet at all. I ended up sticking the adhesive that came with the item to a 3M product which is removable. I used the 3M product to affix it to the dishwasher. It holds okay but isn't very secure. If you're on the fence about buying the product, I would encourge you to get it - but be prepared with an alternative adhesive solution.

I'm big on reading reviews prior to purchasing anything, but I guess I just figured that this was a small and simple enough item that I didn't need to research it. I was wrong; I should have read the reviews. I was pretty surprised when it arrived and it's super lightweight plastic, very cheap, not worth 99 cents, much less $8. To attach to your dishwasher, you're supposed to peel it off the packaging which reveals a 3M adhesive strip. The adhesive barely kept the indicator attached to the dishwasher. It fell off every time I tried to switch between CLEAN and LOAD. Switching between CLEAN and LOAD is also difficult, it sticks every time.

I bought this for our four-person apartment. We have one dishwasher, and we occasionally suffer from the perennial "oops, those dishes are clean" problem.Applying it to the dishwasher was quite easy. The adhesive is surprisingly strong. I have yet to try moving it or re-applying, but it seems firmly stuck in place. It's also easy enough to switch between "Clean" and "Load" (though that still depends on the person running or unloading the dishwasher to remember to flip the indicator).The only thing kind of strange is that "Clean" is green and "Load" is red. I would have reversed that: it seems more important to keep someone from loading a dish when the dishes are clean. Red should mean stop!

ALWAYS know if dishes are clean or dirty with this simple, easy indicator. Attaches in 10 seconds - and if you ever want to take it off, it comes right off without leaving a mark. Meanwhile it sticks, doesn't fall off, and works beautifully. Just switch it from 'Load' to 'Clean' when you run the dishwasher. I'd been looking for something that worked like this for years. I've seen others that have a design flaw, or fall apart. This is made to last. I love this! And so inexpensive):

I thought it was going to be magnetic, but that's my bad. The other thing that was a little annoying is that the "Clean/Load" sign was upside down...in order for it to be seen correctly after being applied to the Dishwasher, i had to open the product (luckily it was made to be opened) and remove the sticker and re-affix it. Other than that, it slides back and forth as intended and I look forward to it helping coworkers to know when clean or dirty dishes. Thank you
