Good to the last drop
For the past few years I've been making my coffee in single cup servings rather than using an automatic drip machine or percolator. I also moved from ground coffee to grinding my own to preserve freshness. I'd always used an electric blade grinder and been happy with the results but when my last one died an early death I gave some thought to what I'd like to replace it with. Having heard over and over that ceramic burr grinders are superior, I did a bit of looking on Amazon and came across the Galleany Manual grinder at an excellent price and with good reviews. When the grinder arrived I noted that it seemed well built with attractive clean lines. On inspection I found that it all seemed quite sturdy so I wasn't worried that I would break the removable handle mechanism which is a complaint I noted on some other hand grinders. The grinding chamber is small, really only holding enough beans for one or two (at most) cups of coffee. This is fine by me, as I said, I make a cup at a time.Grinding coffee by hand is not fast, but it's not at all hard. I've timed how long it takes me to grind enough for one cup brewed using an Aeropress and it averages a bit over four minutes. I'm not sure it would really be possible to go faster, but again, fine by me.The ground coffee is uniform, quite unlike an electric blade grinder. In addition it comes out the same way every time, also unlike a blade grinder, at least for me.Does it make better coffee? There are so many variables at play here that it's hard for me to say that every cup I've ground using this grinder is better than all the cup made another way, but due to the uniform grind, the fact that it doesn't affect the beans through excess heat, and the fact that I have to work a wee bit harder to brew my cup, I'd say I certainly think it improves my coffee making. In the end I'm very happy with my purchase. I plan on taking it with me on a trip along with my Aeropress so that I can make good coffee in hotel rooms for the next several weeks while I travel. Yes there'll probably be a coffee maker in the rooms I use, great for hot water, generally lousy coffee though.Who is this for? Well if you like the act of preparing your coffee cup by cup and taking the time to get it right, this grinder is perfect. If you need to make a lot of coffee for a number of folks, this may not be the grinder for you. For me, however, it is darn near perfect.

Good grinder... while it lasts. Cheap plastic parts fail easily.
I had it for about a month and the plastic bit at the bottom of the ceramic grinder broke. It's useless. Tried to rig a repair but the crack just got worse. It did work great for the month that I had it, but I can't say I feel particularly charitable regarding that this review considering the short usage time.To answer an questions:No, I did not crank it down to a super-fine setting. I didn't even know I could make the grind finer until it had already broken.I make about 2-4 cups of coffee with it every day in my Aeropress.I am not speed-cranking it. I am going at a slow and easy pace. The plastic inside feels cheap and brittle. Looks nice, but if you used all-metal construction it would last longer. I'd pay the extra $10 for that too. I will definitely be looking for a better-quality grinder.

Great Grinder with a hitch
It a good grinder. It performed as advertised. However it has one problem: the top canister turns with the handle as you grind. This requires a tight almost vice-like grip to keep the unit together as you grind, especially fine grind. After awhile you wrist can tire easily. They should have made a screw on top piece or at least fastened it. Otherwise you have to hold the unit almost sideways against your stomach to grind, while holding the unit together.

Superb grinder
It's perfect and I LOVE the fact that it fits neatly inside the handle of my AeroPress. Fully adjustable to any type of grind. Just be careful NOT to crank the handle right out of the box. The ceramic blades can be damaged if set too tightly. All detailed in the instructions. Grinds coffee almost as good as my expensive Breville.

Good grinder if you have 5 minutes to grind up a half pot of coffee.
I like this little grinder. It's perfect for up to about an 8 cup pot although it does take a long while to grind up a full load of beans. It looks very nice on my counter and serves its purpose.

Great grind, tough hold
Works beautifully. I do like that it's quiet so I don't waken everyone. The fine grind is perfect for my lattes. The grinding is easy but the holding of the cylinder becomes tiresome. I'm glad I'm only grinding enough for an espresso pot!

WORKS GREAT
I've used this for four days now WITH NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER! The beans I use all grind easily and it doesn't take long to do it. Adjustments to grind are easy. Handle does not get stuck.
