Works but got a small surprise
The product absolutely works as advertised. The surprise I got is that when the two USBC ports are so close together some plugs won't fit! In particular, I have a wonderful Plantronics headset, with a full USB connector. When I run that connector through a stubby reducing plug, it's too wide. So I had to go back on Amazon and order a pigtail adapter. There are other products on Amazon that have more widely spaced ports, but the vendors seem to be clueless to explain whether or not those products work with a phone headset. So, I'm very happy with this adapter and I accept that I had to buy the extra pigtail. I just want people to know that that's going to happen, if they are using a headset and be prepared.

What we needed but with a minor issue
Purchased this to use with my IPAD pro and external hard drive while traveling in an RV. We needed to be able to connect our ipad to power and to an external hard drive, so we could enjoy the hundreds of movies we have; many on the ipad and others like home movies on the external hard drive. This splitter worked but you have to connect things in a specific sequence. For example, the only way we could get power and connected to the external drive was to connect the splitter, then connect the external hard drive, then connect power. For us at least, any variation of this would result in either no power or no connection to the external hard drive.

Works exactly as needed
My biggest complaint about modern phones that have removed the 3.5mm port is that if you ever need to talk on the phone for a long time you're screwed when it comes to recharging. It could be a super-long family tech support call, it could be a work conference call that drags on and on. But at some point it becomes a choice of speaker-phone, cramping your arm or neck to hold the phone to your face, or just hanging up. This little gadget allows me to talk and charge and that's exactly what I needed. If they would put TWO of the newer ports on a phone to make up for having removed the 3.5mm jack, that would be perfect. Until then, this gets the job done.

Best adapter I've used so far
This is my third product like this for my Galaxy Note 10 plus I learned the weak point is the actual cord flexing and eventually creating short of sorts so I wrapped it with duct tape and I'm still using it sounds good but also the sound does go out if you unplug the power to the device but it's only for a few seconds.

Overall, good product.
It does what it was designed to do. The only improvement that I would make is that if you have the headset and charger plugged in and you remove the charger, the headphones will briefly disconnect. You will want to pause your media to workaround this occurrence.

Charges with a quick charger while listening to music.
Seems to work fairly well. There have been a couple times where I had to disconnect all the wires and the phone then reconnect because despite being plugged in, the sound was not going through the headphones I had plugged in but was coming from the phones speakers. Disconnecting everything and plugging it back in seemed to fix it. All in all, sends very useful and resolves the problem that phone makers are putting themselves in.

The charging and sounds ports are backwards
When I plugged the adapter in, the iPad Pro 11 recognized it as a USB hub right away. I plugged in the power cable and earplugs to the ports marked for each and nothing worked. I was about to send back for refund, when I decided to swap the power and earplugs to see if that would make a difference, and everything worked.

Sensitive and disconnects very easily.
This adapter DOES charge and provide audio at the time, but only if it stays connected to the port. The sound quality and charging speed are better than I expected. My issue is that almost any movement disconnects the adapter from the port. Every few minutes I have to push the adapter up into the phone so I can charge the battery and get audio. (Even though my movement is minimal.) Just typing out this review has caused a couple of disconnections. The sensitive nature of the adapter makes it pretty much useless for what I need.
