I may be a little biased because I had the honor and privilege to learn from her at my alma mater as I completed my degree in Art History, and I think it’s important to disclose that. Dr. Hall is as sharp as ever, and an Art History legend. Her research continues to inspire me, and this book is no different.The selected images support both the accompanying text, but also the period they represent. I also appreciate that all of the well-known and recognized artists are represented through a fresh perspective. I’m excited to add this volume to my personal library.

readable, concise, goes thru art history and gives facts about the artists and the colors they used, and why. Great help to painters who want to replicate palettes for their own work.

The package came on time and was well packed, the book is beautiful and has nice paper and pictures.. Only its seems more about painting restoration and I hoped more about techniques and use of color.. Which is in there the parts I read until now.. But not as detailed as I hoped for.. But in the end its a beautiful book..
