These shoes need wearing in, but are worth it
This is my second pair of Clarks Desert Boots. I bought my first pair about 18 months ago and have lived in them virtually every day and they are the most comfortable pair of shoes I have owned - hence buying a second pair. However, I do offer several points of advice. The first is that they are a 'D' fitting and so relatively narrow. The second is they absolutely do need wearing in - they are very stiff and unyielding on first wearing but, in my opinion, they are worth persevering with - it probably took a good couple of weeks wearing them every day before they finally softened down and became like a second skin. The other thing to be aware of is that they have crepe soles, which means they don't have great grip - particularly noticeable when walking on smooth, wet surfaces. And, finally, they are not waterproof. However, if you love a traditional desert boot, then I don't think you will find much better than these.

Order a half size bigger
Some confusion in the listing about the colour. I thought I was ordering olive, but in fact it was the light oak. Not a problem, but the listing needs revising. The sizing does come up small, so as other buyers have suggested, order a half size bigger than your usual shoe size. I did, and they fit perfectly. They are softening up well after wearing for a day, so overall I am happy.

Good shoes/ good price !
This shoes are wonderful and perfect. I bought it 10 years ago and i needed a new pair now. The price is very interesting (blue navy) but they are black instead. It's not a problem for me because i love the both ! The fit is perfect for me. I am really happy !

Dissapointed
Having read previous reviews about them coming up small I bought a 5. I am usually a 4.5 and have narrow feet. I felt like Cinderella’s step sister trying to squeeze my feet into them! They’re going back and probably won’t be replaced as the size 6 is too expensive. Very dissapointed in Clarks. I am 64 and have been wearing Clarks shoes all my life!

Very small fitting
I originally ordered a half size larger than I normally wear but on arrival they were too small. I then re-ordered a half size bigger still and they fit perfectly although a bit sloppy on the heels.

Bit tight at first but soon loosen up
Absolutely love these boots! Ordered yesterday afternoon and picked up this morning from an Amazon locker nearby.They were super tight when I first put them on but after just an hour wearing around the house they’re loosening up already.They do wear and change colour pretty much straight away, if you’re looking for a sleek boot which doesn’t show wear these won’t be for you.Will definitely be buying more of these Clarks desert boots. I think I’ll be wearing them a lot.

Knocked down one star as slight scuff marks on one shoe which was disappointing as purchased for a gift but nothing too bad. I ordered a half size bigger as reviews mentioned that this style comes up small. Slightly looser than I was hoping for but okay - would have been too small if I'd have purchased the usual size of the recipient.Fast delivery.

Lovely boots
Really pleased with my new boots. I listened to the other people's comments and got half a size bigger and they are perfect
